This was a very clean 28 foot boat and the captain and 2 crew were very good and did their best to troll for fish.  Our trip was a 5 hour trip the last week of December, 2019.  We caught nothing, just one hook up of a dorado that pulled the hook.  We had never fished Cabo before and here is how it worked:  The boat left the marina at 7:30 am (we were a half hour late because it took 30 minutes to purchase fishing licenses at the marina).  We went about a quarter to a half mile offshore where we counted 85 other fishing boats in sight and the crew trolled with 5 lines.  If they hook something, they then hand the customer the rod to reel in the fish.  We only saw one sail fish hooked up for the entire 5 hour trip (maybe an off day or the wrong time of year?).  So we trolled up and down the coast for 5 hours going around in circles with at least 85 other boats in a very small area.  We usually take a party boat out of San Diego looking for tuna, dorado, yellowtail, etc. with our own rods and reels and we tie on our own hooks or lures, hook our own bait and cast, etc.  That is a lot more fun for us versus having the crew do everything and then just hand you the rod with a hooked fish if you are one of the lucky few to hook something (again, there were 85 boats we counted within our sight).  I guess if you are a novice and hook a sailfish it could be fun.  We had a nice boat ride and the boat and crew were great, but this was not exactly what we had expected or hoped for.  Too many boats chasing too few fish with the crew doing all the work.

We had a fun day!  Both the captain and first mate were very friendly and helpful.

Captain and crew worked their butts off. Put us on 5 Yellowfin Tune and presented us with our choice of wine for our 20th wedding Anniversary. We ended up landing a Marlin on our return back to port.
