Fishing was excellent for the first hour and a half. Had 9 in the boat when the light switch got turned off. When the sun started to come up, the fish stopped biting. Then the fog rolled in. Captain Gabe is an experience captain got us on the fish however, the number of boats outside the harbor was excessive.  Were able to hook 4 more in the next three hours. 1 was hooked in the river on the way back to dock. Captain Gabe kept fishing until the last possible location prior to going to Port.

Never have I ever written a review. Good or bad. But Gabe and Nick (1st Mate) were absolutely incredible. We had a 0500 Charter, Gabe and Nick were ready and waiting for us. His boat was super easy to find, once he stopped using the dreaded North, South, East and West directions!! “Left at the dumpster.” Better than any GPS. His boat was clean and well equipped. Myself, husband, son and Grandson were the fishermen. We caught a ton of fish, in our opinion. Both Gabe and Nick said that it was a “slow day”. We were thrilled with our catch. Bad weather was rolling in, which Gabe was monitoring and well aware of. Got us all back in one piece. Was it expensive? Yep. But worth every penny and then some. Almost three weeks later, we are still talking about what a great day it was. Gabe and Nick both played such an important part in making it so enjoyable and memorable. We would all recommend Elsie Charters. Thanks Guys!! We appreciate all of your hard work and especially helping us make some beautiful memories.

We had an incredible time on our recent fishing trip in Manistee with Elise K Charters. From start to finish, the experience was professional, fun, and memorable. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone was comfortable and involved.

The boat was clean and well-equipped, and the captain clearly knew where to find the fish! We caught plenty and had a lot of laughs along the way. The entire trip was smooth, well-organized, and a great way to enjoy a day on the water.

We went out with Captain Gabe for an evening charter and took my 9 year old son, my 80 year old grandfather, my father and my wife. Gabe worked nonstop from the moment we left the dock and until we made it back home. Though we didn’t get into a bunch of fish, Captain Gave worked non-stop rigging poles, changing lures, changing different troll lines and different locations. Once we did hook up with a fish, he worked to make sure we landed them.  I would not hesitate again to book Captain Gabe for another salmon fishing adventure.

This is my third trip with Gabe and the streak continues of great fishing on Lake Michigan.  We caught some great king salmon and had a great time.  The weather was quite a mixed bag - rain, lightning and wind but we were successful in filling the box.  Gabe is a great guide and I recommend him to anyone looking for king salmon out of Manistee.
