My lady and I came to San Juan on a cruise and had a great time fishing with Alex while we were there.

He was great at answering questions, helping with my ladies’ bait and line, and most importantly, finding the fish.

He was great at handling the boat and putting you in a position to get strikes. We tried multiple spots and approaches to target the tarpon.

We enjoyed Alex’s casual approach and fun. He was super friendly and great at communicating what he saw in the water, as well as what he felt the fish were doing in terms of eating and where they would be moving to.

Everything about the day was perfect. I arrived early and Tommy was already there and we launched before we were even supposed to start.

I took a gamble on flying fishing because I suck and Tommy was such a patient and skilled teacher.

He worked all day and gave me soooo many chances to catch fish. Hooked a bunch, I was good enough to catch a handful and missed a couple some bigger fish.

Beyond that he was a great guy and very professional. I’ve fished all over the world and this was top notch. I will be back. See you in PR and hopefully one day in AK my friend.

We had Fernando as our fishing guide, and we had an insane time. We caught 4 different species of fish, and had really fun conversations. He was very friendly and always had great energy, even through the rain. He was extremely knowledgeable on the species of the area, even the birds and other animals. He gave us great recommendations not just for fishing but for restaurants and places to go to have fun. Overall Fernando exceeded all our expectations, we definitely recommend.

Took my Dad out for Tarpon fishing while in Puerto Rico. My cell phone wouldn’t connect so I was a little stressed when I couldn’t call the captain to confirm.  Start time was 0700, and at 0715 I was getting worried we were in the wrong spot.  Then Alex came cruising up and called my name.  He had been out catching the bait, and they have to do it just as the sun is coming up, at 640… so, just be patient if they’re a little late picking you up.  Overall there wasn’t a lot of action, of 3 boats Alex let us know we were the only one that ended up with fish in the boat.  My Dad and I both hooked up and landed a Tarpon, and got to enjoy a wonderful 4 hours on the water with some great views around the mangroves and the lagoon.  Alex was educational,  pleasant and professional but also relaxed and willing to talk about the island, himself and different aspects of Puerto Rico.  If we come back I’ll be booking another trip for sure

My husband, 15 yr old son, and I went out with Captain Gaby.  This was a first time experience for us. Within 10-15 minutes of setting the rods we had a double bite.  My son caught a Jack and my husband had a fun battle with a huge tarpon that taught us how strong and mighty they are and got away.  Gaby knew all the good spots and before long we were catching again. We caught tarpons, jack, and a snook, making it a “puertorican grand slam”..
The trip was an overall amazing experience. We saw pools of sardines, a stingray and other fish jumping above the water and a variety of sea birds. Captain Gaby was very knowledgeable, professional and definitely made the experience fun. He taught us how to fish and reel the fish in. He didn’t give up until we had a snook at the end.
Highly recommend and definitely will do again.
