Epic day on the water! Three of us went out and we got a shot at 3 and another one smacked but was never hooked. These tarpon are the perfect size for a good fight 40-50 pounders. I got one in the boat but my other two buddies (both who rarely fish) missed theirs. One buddy got to fight his for 10 minutes before being broken off though. All in all the perfect day on the water and the captain, crew, and gear were top notch!

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Capt Fernando. He is very passionate about his job and cares about his customers. His knowledge of tarpon fishing and explaining why things are doing a specific way made our trip very enjoyable. We managed to catch 4 tarpon and had 2 right beside the boat but got off before Capt Fernando could grab them. I highly recommend this company and Capt Fernando.

Tough condition the day of our trip, rained the whole time and very few Tarpon were being caught. Captain Gaby didn’t stop trying to get us on fish, and with minutes to go on our trip he managed to get my 11 year old son on a nice Tarpon and me on a smaller one. Very appreciative of his effort. His local food recommendations we spot on also😉. Would definitely recommend Captain Gaby.

Trip was good despite fishing being slow. We were in the tarpon the whole time, and we had one bite that didn’t stick. The other boats we were in touch with did about the same. Captain Miguel was a pleasure to fish with. He’s a good fisherman, and you can tell he’s excited to be out there and work hard to get on the fish. I will definitely book with backwater and Captain Miguel again.

Great time we got 8 fish and one fatty! Went with the wife who does not fish, and felt very comfortable. We had the Mr. Miyagi of a captain. Thank you for a wonderful time. Patience haha.
