We went for an unexpected tour of the salmon fish hatchery and that was super cool! Also we had 3 bald eagles eating fish around us so we got to see them up close… they are so beautiful! That was the good part.
So the fishing part was not so great. We went to a dock to catch king salmon on the salmon run… but if you know salmon then you know they don’t really eat when spawning, so why would u bring us to their spawning grounds? The fishing guy was 19yrs old and I’m not sure he had lived enough life to know that lol he was a nice kid, super nice! At the end of the trip he was like hey we had a pretty successful fishing trip we caught a king salmon, it was literally 10” long. He said they have other places they fish to so why would you not shoot for a place that can really be successful. If this would have been a tour guided trip of animals I would have given them a 10/10!!! And awesome energy a 10/10 but the fishing part (which is what we came for) 3/10 we have about 4 artic shad also but nothing over 12”

Michelle, Paul and Charlie ( their sweet dog ) are great!  They communicated perfectly, informative and very helpful.  Paul is a very knowledgeable fisherman.  My son caught a 17 lb Chum Salmon, he was ecstatic! Thanks for a great afternoon on our 1 day visit to Juneau!

If the weather hadn’t been so ideal this would have been a disappointing outing. Caught only chum on a crowded public dock.
