Where to startโฆ born and raised in San Diego, Iโve been on more fishing boats and trips than I can count. Vast majority were average, several really amazing ones and a couple bad ones. This tops them all. 1st- the boat, most uncomfortable, rickety panga Iโve been on. Parts falling off, chairs were rock hard, โcushionsโ torn apart, poles functional but also badly worn out and in need of maintenance. We brought our our own lunch/ water but this is the first time Iโve ever been required to do so. Not even so much as an extra cooler to keep our stuff cold. 2- the pilot- not friendly but not rude either. Barely spoke English, fine, but even the little he spoke was so garbled and mumbled it was nearly impossible to understand. I speak passable Spanish and had a rough go. We asked multiple times to stop so we could photograph turtles, porpoises and other wildlife we had spotted, nope. Just blew right past them without even a stutter in the engine. Even after several requests!! We sure as hell werenโt catching anything. The least he could have done is allowed us to enjoy being out there. 3- fishing. If you can call it that. We werenโt allowed to touch the poles unless something bit. Iโm not a pro, but even I know you arenโt going to catch much going 30 miles an hour with your hook waterskiing on the surface 15 feet behind the boat. Anytime we tried to let some line out to at least clear the whitewater we were promptly yelled and to told to bring it back in. Three lines out all from the back of the 5foot wide boat, tangling every time heโd turnโฆnot sure why they even bothered installing outriggers, they must be for looks onlyโฆ. The only time we werenโt racing was when we asked to stop so we could untangle the lines, not that heโd even noticed, then back to warp speed. 4- bait, glad the sea lions were hungry, forcing us to buy 4 small fish for $20 that we never even used! Dude ran teasers the whole time and not once let us use the live bait we paid for. Surprisingly, he did stop when a sea lion came by and we at least got to drop the fish for him. Oh forgot to mention- when we finally did stop, to untangle his lines again, we asked if we could weight the hooks so theyโd at least be in the water, not skiing on the surface getting picked off by the gulls. So he took 1 rod, weighted it, dropped it and played with it for 45 minutes while we sat there and watchedโฆ till we asked if we could have a go. Finally handed it over jumped back on the throttle and took off again. Did I mention the other 2 rods were sitting idly by, unused? After 3.5 hours of watching him fish, trying not to snap our backs bouncing along and sitting on the rock seats, and not catching a damn thing(truly, we didnโt even really have a fighting chance) we asked him to just take us back. Sure, we saw the coastline, which was beautiful with some truly amazing engineering of houses built on the cliffs, we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise, and saw some wildlife(briefly, as we flew past them). But to call this a fishing trip is a stretch most gymnasts would be jealous of. We will NEVER recommend Blue Sea Fishing and will truly have a hard time trusting anything on this site again. If they had spoken enough English or my Spanish strong enough, we would have demanded our money back. Biggest disappointment of our time here. Sad because I love sea fishing and was looking forward to this more than anything. Iโd heard Cabo was one of the best in the world. Iโm sure it is but not with these guys. Absolute garbage.
