My two sons and I (17 and 10) booked a half day with Capt. Andy.  The weather didn’t fully cooperate with us in the beginning but calmed down as the day went on. We got a couple bites in the beginning trolling but couldn’t get them to the boat. We switched to kite fishing and immediately hooked into a sailfish. My 17 year old son fought this fish for 45 minutes before it finally gave up. It was a blast to watch for me so I know he had a great time! 

Even when the bite was slow or non existent Capt. Andy never gave up. He continued to try his best to put us on some fish.  He even extended the trip to give us more time to find fish.

It really seems like Capt. Andy is in it for the fishing. I never once felt like it about making money for him, which is great because it really felt like going fishing with a couple buddies just looking to have a good time!  If we come back to Miami for vacation I would definitely book with Capt. Andy again!

Can’t explain how happy I was with the trip because I am tired now from catching too many fish and traveling not possible to catch too many but we did get a lot between myself and my mom we got about a dozen Mahi Mahi, 2 Tuna, 2 Barracuda and 2 Wahoo amazing fishing and for sure you get in touch with this guy and he will make it happen, very positive as well was his first mate, I didn’t get his name but he was great guy as well.  I only fished twice in saltwater and the last guide sucked and just had a horrible attitude, a lot of them do.  Get in contact with this man and you will for sure book with him.  we had a nine hour trip and of course with that many fish you are incredibly happy but with the heat I brought it up to him and gave the option to reduce the trip because of us being beat from the heat from the days prior and needing to leave for a flight about 8hrs later or atleast driving and getting there early to be sure we were there, great guy.  We had the hurricane and another guide service wanted to cancel for a hunting adventure, I said no, not a chance in cancelling if my plane makes it there, and Andres was one of the people I contacted kind of in panic cause you know you plan a vacation and hurts when stuff happens and the weather said it was the end of world which it was horrible however all of Florida was doomed as weather was saying, I kept asking him about the weather cause again, I was watching the weather, big mistake, ask a local that lives there and Andres kept saying its horrible in the west and just not too good right now but would be great the following week or as of like this past sat, so really can’t say enough.  You will have a great fishing and never met anyone so positive, I guess I am as well when it comes to fishing, I know I am going to catch this yet I always have those thoughts of the worst like this could be a 0 however I know it always picks up and it did, we got 2 Tuna right away then it was awhile then you got tons of action.  Great guy is all I can say get in touch with him and contact others as I did, I think I emailed on here 10 or more and of course you go a lot of who cares to respond, cause yeah most of them don’t or if your asking questions they go very short and for all that money you don’t deserve to be treated like I was on the other trip I had not sure I should say his name cause I can’t think of it, just he was a “bus driver” which it wasn’t his boat, what kind of attitude is that?  Drunk driver always having first mate swapping out lines, so they don’t tangle, not once did I see that happen with this captain, he cares about the customer, and he tries to get you what you want.  Not saying everything that happened but just say get in touch with him, fish with him and you will be typing the same review.  I know from past guides lot of them just care about the money, not this guy.  I was so glad I went, for sure I was exhausted with everything else I had planned and had done.  We had a great day and even cut it short making it great on all of us.  Great fishing like that do you want to go away from no but my situation I had too, need time to seal and freeze plus getting a few hours sleep was great before I had to catch my flight.  Email him now!  They are biting or he will tell you when it will be good.

My son & I booked a half day trip while we were in town this summer in Mid July.  We went out around 6 am and the weather looked amazing as we got to the fishing grounds the weather was turning. Capt assured us we would be ok. He was extremely knowledgeable about the weather and managed to keep us out there away from the passing storms all while combing the seas for fish.  We brought up a couple of small Mahi, and some Bonita but were limited on where we could go due to the storms. All in all we had a great time. Andy knows his trade,  has great gear & employs great technique. Fishing is fun aboard the Avi Mar and I highly recommend it.

We spend a half day aboard the Avimar and had not only some great fishing but one of the best experiences we’ve ever had on the water. Capt. Andy and his mate Albert were clearly great anglers and fantastic to talk to as we waited for our next bite. We caught plenty of fish to eat and he even put us on our first sailfish ever. A trip with captain Andy aboard Avimar is definitely money well spent.

This was by far the best experience, I couldn’t have asked for better. Andres and his first mate Justin made this experience fantastic, they really know what they are doing. We caught some wahoos, several mahi and several tuna. If you are looking for a successful trip with lots of fun, pick captain Andres!!
