Great day with my 2 daughters and myself.  We have been with several guides over 20+ years of fishing and Tom truly ranks among the top 5 in customer service which is what it is all about.  Fishing is the fun part, but I have been with guides that almost make it feel like a job opposed to going out and having a good time on the water.  He did a great job of moving us around to try to get on the fish.  Tough bite today, but if you fish long enough, you understand those days as well.  The main thing is that Tom remained a very courteous guide and we enjoyed talking about life in general with him as well.  Remember this when you fish, sometimes it can be a long half or full day, but it is great when you can just related well with your guide.  Understand Tom will be checking out guiding in Nueces Bay, we will definitely be looking forward to experiencing that with him next summer.  Thanks for a great trip for my and my girls.

WE had a nice day out with Capt Tom. The four of us had different levels of fishing experience,. and Capt Tom made sure we all felt comfortable and helped out as needed. We caught some—not a lot, but some—but we know that a big catch is never guaranteed. Capt Tom was on-time,. had equipment and live bait for us, the boat got us out fast, and he did his best to put us on some fish. The boat will accomodate 4 anglers, but it is a little tight. Some of us waded a bit, but it is mucky and you need to be a pretty good wader to do that.

Excellent experience all around. My twin 15yo had their first guided boat/bay fish. Shy types, but they were having fun. The boys couldn’t stop talking about it as we returned to our hotel. I sense new fish tales over the next few days. hahaha! Capt. Sowell is so helpful. Professional and knowledgeable. He knows the bay. I will charter with Capt. Sowell again. No doubt! Oh yea, we caught some flounder, reds and trout. Hard to beat that.

What a great trip! With the threat of a downpour Capt. Tom decided to push forward and I am so glad we did! The weather was overcast and at times a little drizzly. However, the bay was perfect and smooth. When we arrived at the area we were going to fish the Capt. found the perfect positions along the flats. The kids had never caught any decent fish before and they had the time of their lives even though they are typical kids and not patient at all. It took one fish on the line and they were hooked! Tom had several places already in mind where we would fish and it did not disappoint.
Just a little observation from me. The Capt. knows his fishing and gear. Don’t let the one year experience sway you. He has fished all of his life and only guided for a year. He knows what he is doing. He is calm and has a blast helping you get those fish. I myself grew up on the coast and have fished all my life too but let the man take the lead. His boat, his gear and his knowledge. You pay for an experience so let him do what he knows and give you that experience. We had a great time and will book every time we go down. We also gave a tip. We had a great time for an amazing price so we wanted to show our appreciation!
