I would like to preface this by saying that I live and fish in Northeast Florida. Didn’t want the hassle of dragging my boat 300 miles for a long weekend trip.
I was lucky enough to find Always Late Fishing Charter.
Lucas & Drake were at the dock early to meet us for our charter. Both of them were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous to me, my wife & son. The seas were a little rougher than forecasted, but the 32 foot See Vee handled it well! The boat and fishing were great! They put us on the Mangrove Snapper at the first spot we went to and it was a free for all! We went to a couple of other spots to end the day and caught fish there as well.
Both Lucas and Drake are generational Marathonians and were very talkative not just in conversation but also describing their fishing techniques. One thing that was impressive was their comradery with the other charter captains that came to the same spots we were fishing.
I would definitely recommend Always Late Fishing Charter for anyone looking for a great day of fishing. I will be calling them the next time we visit the Keys!

This was our 2nd trip with Captain Lucas and Mike. As we walked away after catching over 50 fish I told Captain, “You’re our guy!” We won’t ever book with another captain. Our first trip was 2 years ago and we had a great time. This trip was even better. I messaged Lucas prior saying I would love to catch a mahi mahi and he made it happen with 30+. It was like out of a movie, the bright colors, fish jumping out of the water. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. My entire family had a trip of a life time. Highly recommend!!!

We had an amazing eight hour, full day offshore trip with Captain Lucas and first mate Mike! After traveling about 45 minutes to the Marathon Hump. Captain Lucas put us on some amazing blackfin tuna. We did about four drifts and everyone in our party got the opportunity to fight and catch at least one tuna. My grandkids were absolutely thrilled!

Next, Captain Lucas left the Hump and went out into the gulfstream. It wasn’t long until we were on some great mahi. What a beautiful fish, and delicious! Here’s the kicker……. at the end of the day, back at the docks, ALWAYS LATE CHARTERS was the only boat to bring back mahi-mahi!

As we cruise from one fishing spot to another, we encountered a couple of pods of porpoises that were so playful and entertaining. Perhaps the most interesting and unusual site was an abandoned, home made Cuban refugee “vessel” that was floating in open water.

On the final leg of our trip, Captain Lucas put us on some amazing mutton snapper! We were amidst a few other boats, but, amazingly, our boat was the only one catching any!

All in all, we had a five-star trip! We were so impressed with Captain Lucas‘s and Mike’s passion about fishing and taking care of theiir party. Regardless of your level of experience, from novice to well seasoned, the crew of ALWAYS LATE couldn’t have been any more helpful! World-class customer service!

We enjoyed our charter. We caught plenty of fish. Captain Lucas and Mike were terrific and patient. They were also very flexible as we had a slight weather delay. They definitely made up for the lost time due to bad weather.
