This was our 3rd fishing charter as a family and the 1st two were epic disasters.  My wife really didn’t want to try a 3rd one but so glad we did.  Captain Jay was the best!  Great personality, very professional, and an absolute joy to be on the water with.  My boys are already wanting to book another trip with him.  We filled the box with keepers, caught a ton of 2-3’ sharks, attempted to hook a giant baracuda but only managed a small one.  Really didnt want to come in but we used up all our bait.  Will definitely look to book with Lock It Up the next time we are in Key Largo!!

I picked Jason from a long list of options on Fishing Booker because he seemed to have some personality in his “Meet the Captain” video — and he absolutely lived up to it.

From the start, Jason was personable and easy to talk to. Throughout the trip he kept great conversation going, sharing information not just about the fishing but also about things we were seeing along the way.

There’s a term “Johnny on the spot.” While we were fishing it was more like Jason on the spot. If a bait came off or we needed something, he had another one ready for me and my son Luca in the blink of an eye.

Despite some choppy, less-than-ideal conditions, Jason still put us on fish. My son had never been out before, and I’ve never seen a 14-year-old smile like that.

Great personality, good conversation, lots of laughs, and a captain who knows how to find fish.

Captain Jason was fantastic! He picked us up right from our resort on Adams Cut. Within about 15 minutes we had the bait bucket full, and another 15 minutes after that we were already on fish.

There were two adults and a kid in our group, and he kept us fishing the entire trip. We’ve been on quite a few charters, and you can tell right away when someone truly lives for the water. Jason clearly does. He knows the Florida Keys like it’s his own backyard and takes a lot of pride in showing it to people.

We tried to book another trip with him later in the week, but his schedule was already full — word is definitely out that he’s one of the best around.

Highly recommend booking with Captain Jason. You won’t regret a single moment. We’ll definitely be back.

I couldn’t have asked for a better fishing charter experience. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, Capt Jay made us feel welcome, relaxed, and excited for the day ahead. His knowledge of the Keys was obvious and he always explained what we were targeting and why.  Capt Jay’s mix of professionalism and easygoing attitude made the whole trip a blast. Despite rain and cold Capt Jay made it happen and we put nice fish on ice.

Capt Jay was more then patient with kids on board and never stop teaching and assisting. Capt Jay genuinely cares about giving you a memorable day.

J knew exactly where to take us to serve all our needs- as the mom, I wasn’t keen on going out far and getting tossed around so we were close to the mangroves most of the trip- our 17 year old loves Catching Monsters and J helped him catch a Jack Cravelle!  Plus a y ton of other fish- great attitude and sense of humor-very enjoyable afternoon!
