Being an “Old Fart” of sixty-seven years, I have been on a few excursions in my life, yet this charter that we booked with Captain Randy was a once in a lifetime experience. Saturday, December 30th was the date and the weather had been marginal, so we planned a trip to begin at 12 noon that day. When we arrived at the dock, met Captain Randy, his wife (and first mate) Amy, they were very kind and made us feel very welcomed. The weather turned out to be spectacular, as we got underway the captain shared with us his story about the red tagged fish which was incredible and be sure to ask him to share. We arrived at our destination and the captain immediately went to work, there was five of us besides the captain, he baited each pole, made the cast and by the time the last had been handed over the first had a bite! There he attended and assisted on the boat as the next bite came and so on, again and again…just amazing. I really can’t say what was more fun, watching all those fish come on board or the choreography of this really talented Skipper dancing all around his boat. We had a blast and just short of three hours had our limit totaling eighty-one pounds of Black Drum and Redfish….now that is a fish story! Thank you, Captain Randy and Amy, for providing each one of us an experience that we will always remember and cherish!!

We started a little slow and had to move a couple of times before I caught my first Red (ever) 25” a little later I caught a second about the same size. Also caught black drum.
At the end of our trip Randy took us to another place where he said we might catch a really big red and that’s where my son Tom hooked and landed a 32” red (see attached video)
Right after that I hooked something really big that immediately ripped off about 100’ of line the drag was screaming but couldn’t land the fish because the line got hung up on something below and broke off.
Really exciting!!

I booked my trip for 2 a few weeks out for a fun birthday trip to port Aransas. Captain Randy was prompt, polite, and professional in getting us a welcome letter, answering any questions I had not only I regards to the trip but a few about taking the ferry and getting to the island.

Captain Randy was waiting for us at fisherman’s wharf when we arrived, we where lucky enough to have his wife Amy helping as deck hand that day and I cannot tell you how much effort and energy was put into making our day special.

We had a heat advisory in effect and Randy asked if I wanted to head out in the morning instead of the afternoon and we quickly took him up on that! We went to so many amazing fishing spots, my wife has a shrimp allergy and Randy took extreme care in regards to this. Bleaching her poles and entire boat prior to us heading out. We haven’t spent a ton of time in the gulf and we expressed our interest in the wild life and land around us. Randy took extra time to show us incredible spots, an amazing light house and sunken ships. We were lucky enough to spot dolphins and sea turtles and caught a red fish. We had a well stocked cooler with beverages courtesy of captain Randy and even on a hot day we had a blast on the water! We couldn’t recommend anyone else and will definitely be booking another trip the next
