We decided to try our hand at Marlin, and after spotting some, having some excitement chasing them with a bunch of other boats around us, we sadly didnโt grab any. some days are good some days are bad. Thatโs why itโs fishing! However, after striking out with Marlon our captain then took us over to shore and we pulled in rooster and needlefish. super fun trip. some information for people doing this for the first time: thereโs a station at the marina number 5, and itโs a little confusing. nobody seems to be able to tell you where to go, but if you go to that gate and ask for your Captain by name someone should be able to direct you. the 23-ft boats are small enough that there isnโt really a bathroom, so prepare for that. bring some snacks, and if youโre looking for a more corporate environment this probably isnโt for you. You will buy live bait once youโre on the boat and in the ocean. another boat will come up and get it to you, so plan ahead and bring cash. also cash for tip. we put both our boating experience and the fishing licenses on the credit card, which was pretty easy but youโll want cash for the rest. there is a fee for putting it on the card, so if you can pay in all cash that would be a great option too. have an idea of what kind of fish youโd like to go for before you get there, our captain wasnโt very helpful on what was biting, just said everyday is different. so theyโre going to let you lead so have an idea of what you want. Even the small fish are big! We did the sunrise half day, and just going out on the ocean at that time of day was gorgeous. also even in in a little bit of choppy seeds with not a ton of sun it wasnโt very cold And we were good in shorts and tennis shoes all day. really you can wear whatever shoes you want on the boat, flip flops and Crocs and tennis shoes were on our feet.

We booked an 8 hour day trip. We arrived at 6:20 met our crewโฆa father/son team named Cesar and Cesar. They are lifelong Cabo residents and fished the area their whole lives. They knew where to find the fish! We caught 4 striped marlin and would have caught more had we not run out of bait! Cesar and Cesar knew how to find the fish, and, being in a smaller boat, could get to the hot spots fasters! The only downsides to our dayโฆwe had to bring our own snacks, water, and cerveza and there was no toilet on the boat. Still, I woukd recommend this biat and this crew as we outfished the larger boats! It was truly an unforgettable day!

We went out fishing with Cesar on a half day charter and would 100% recommend it if you are in Cabo. Within the first 15 minutes we had action, and we were hooked up almost the entire trip! We caught Mahi, many Tuna, and Bonita as well as a few other fish. Following the trip we had our catch prepared at La Chatita, right where you leave and return to the marina. The food was brilliant and the entire experience with Cesar and Cabo Mahi Mahi was amazing. I cannot recommend it enough and would definitely book with this group again when I return to Cabo!

We hooked a Blue Marlin 20 minutes into the trip and ended up fighting the fish for 2.5hrs. It was just under 10โ long and Captain Cesar was great at ensuring we did the right things to land the fish. It was an awesome day and the Mahi team was great from the time we arrived at the dock till the time we left. Cant wait to come back and fish with them again.
Went out on a 5 hour trip. Wanted Mahi or wahoo, didnโt want to waste time on Marlin (have caught lots of striped Marlin before) Got one Mahi right away, then we doubled up. crew seemed a little overwhelmed with a double, between gaffing and poor boat control we did only land one of the two. Ended up being our only two mahi bites. Spent 45 minutes on a Marlin, which was a fun challenge on a small boat. Mahi fishing has been slow during our week here (3rd trip this week) and suggested bottom fishing for grouper. This was 100% an unexpected surprise. We had 4 hits in the last 1/2 hour we had left. Two were Goliath, one got off and got to land one. Overall good trip, weโre going again with Cabo Mahi Mahi!
