I had a great all- day trip on the Little Willow fishing for “Leopard” rainbow trout. I’m a beginner at fly fishing but my guide, Carson, made it easy for me by constantly positioning the raft for easy casts to good spots. We tried several different presentations to see what worked best: dry flies, nymphs with a float, streamers, and streamers with a float. I caught several trout and I hooked but lost several others, including a grayling. Those Leopard rainbows are crazy wild fish - not easy to land! On top of the great fishing, I was treated to caribou sausages for a hot shore lunch! Carson seemed willing to spend as much time on the water as I wanted, so I had a good long, relaxed day of great fishing!

I’m a novice fly angler who sought an accessible Alaska fishing experience. The day in late June was cool and the sky was overcast with clouds. I was apprehensive about and unsure that I’d made a good decision. Dan showed up at the appointed time and place and was encouraging and upbeat from the start. He demonstrated respect for his craft, the environment the fish and me with professionalism and unusual warmth. He taught and guided with kindness that free from condescension and a know it all demeanor. I learned to fish successfully in spots that, until today, I would have passed by without a second look.

Dan managed our outing with skill and understanding. He challenged me to try new techniques and to see the habitat through new eyes.

If you’re an older person, like me, and new to the sport of fly flying, you could hardly do better than to spend four hours on Willow Creek with Dan.

The guides, Jared and Stephen, were great - patient, knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic.  We caught Rainbow Trout and learned so much.  Would definitely go again and highly recommend these guys!

Booked a half day wade trip in early/mid May. I knew it was a bit early and didnt end up catching any fish. Didn’t matter. Ryan, my guide, was great and gave me a few casting tips I can take back with me. He knew what he was doing but the water was just a bit too cold. Would book again!
