We’ve already referred friends who are taking the same charter we did. Freddy and Juan were amazing. Juan can spot any fish you’re looking to catch and Freddy is an amazing deck hand. He teaches you have to catch big fish and is so encouraging. They take customer service to the next level, openly communicate and are safe. We had the BEST experience and would recommend them to anyone. They were so respectful, knowledgeable, hospitable and the boat was clean. They even set you up with a company directly from the dock to clean your fish and package them. Highly recommend if you’re serious about fishing and want to spend the day with great people. June fishing can be hit or miss because of the temperature swings of the water. Our planned day happened to hit on an off-cycle for fishing activity.

Nonetheless, our crew (Andres and Ishmael) worked tirelessly to produce catchable fish. The boats around us weren’t catching anything but we ended the day with 6 White Bonito, 2 Skip Jacks, and 1 Jack Crevelle.

In fact, one of the White Bonito turned out to be 1” shy of the world record for fish caught on a sportman’s rod/reel. The record is 30” and my catch was 29”!!! Massive kudos to the crew!

We also had purchased the option for them to provide transportation for us. Driver showed up on-time and in a very nice SUV. To demonstrate their level of customer service, for the return trip to the hotel, our driver couldn’t make it to the marina because of a traffic accident blocking their route. So instead of forcing us to wait, another boat captain within their fleet took it upon himself to take us in her personal vehicle all the way back to the hotel which was 30 min away. We didn’t ask for that and he didn’t have to do that, but he still did!

Would absolutely recommend these guys anytime!

We had a great trip even though the fish weren’t biting across the whole fleet. The captain and first mate constantly changed things up to get more bites. We caught 6 Bonita, lost 3 rooster fish, had four wahoo take our bait and two marlin after the bait.

This isn’t my first time to fish in Cabo, and we’ve tried for marlins before but have been unsuccessful. Today we showed up and had mahi mahi coming at us right away. We talked about going further out and trying for a marlin and lo and behold these guys got me one. Juan and his team coached me through feeling in this beast step by step so I never lost him. It was a fun but exhausting fight. Got him in the boat and he was just shy of 9ft. Trip was absolutely made after this! I definitely recommend Juan and his crew to anyone looking for a great charter in Cabo.

Wow !!!! Just wow !! What an incredible and mesmerizing experience with Captain Juan and deckhand Freddy ! From start to finish this 2 man crew delivered top notch world class service. Juan put us on our first dorado hookup a few hours in. Shortly after, we were able to hook another dorado but bigger ! Our trip wrapped up with a trophy 100 lb Wahoo and finally a whopper dorado ! This was absolutely a fishing trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend Blue Tail II with Captain Juan and Freddy for anyone looking to catch big fish in Cabo. Thanks for everything!
