Captain Lyle is amazing.  Incredibly knowledgeable on the ocean and fishing and happy to share his knowledge. He was super easy to talk to and explained alot. I’m incredibly thankful that he fileted our fish. This was our first time and when we book again we will definitely be looking for captain Lyle and the prospector.

First time out of Newport fishing. We were very pleased with this guide. He was ready to go early and when it was slow he moved to another spot and we had fish on. I took my wife and two boys 5 and 8. He boat is very nice with a good cabin for a kid to rest (waking up at 4:30AM) Overall was a 10 out of 10. If you prefer a small group, this is the way to go. We were lucky to have a sunny day with a calm surf. Our trip included 4 adults and a young boy plus the boat captain. At times we had fish on more than one line, our captain was always there to help bring the fish on board.

The Captain is all business when it comes to the safety of his guests and the operation of his boat. Additionally, the Captain and his wife were a blast to learn from, joke with and hear and tell stories with. This was my first, Father/Son charter fishing trip and I can’t express how much fun we had. The Capt said “It’s your job to catch the fish and it’s my job to keep you on the fish”. Boy did he deliver! Highly recommend!

We had a great trip with Captain Lyle this morning!  He was knowledgeable and provided easy to follow instructions helping us to easily catch our limit for the day without any prior ocean fishing experience!  Great communication leading up to the trip so even though we were coming in from out of state we felt very comfortable with the booking. We will be booking again next year for sure!
