Captain Joe and Deckhand Jake did an excellent job of taking our party of six out on the Salty Loot, including our 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son. The boat ride to the fishing grounds was a bit bumpy, but Joe made us all feel safe and relatively comfortable. The boat ride was well worth it as we cought our limit of halibut. Joe and Jake were very thorough with explaining the techniques and answering all of our questions. They were also respectful when the kids got a bit green in the face. After catching our limit of halibut we were taken to a spot with an incredible black rockfish bite. To finish up the trip we came across a pod of orcas while boating back in! What a great day of fishing and wildlife! I highly recommend Captain Joe and Deckhand Jake on the Salty Loot!!!

Our Captain Joe and our First Mate Jake were both accommodating and informative during the entire 10 hour experience. They partnered well with one another and integrated perfectly with our group of six.
Salty Loot is a well kept and well stocked boat that includes a head (restroom), sink with fresh water, heated cabin, microwave, plenty of storage space and ensures all safety needs.
The captain and crew take care of baiting all required rods and guiding clients through procedures of next steps depending on your fishing location around the area.
Fish on!ย After your catch, the crew will clean your fish during the sail back to port where you are allowed additional options including shipping your catch directly to your residence.

Our family of 6 had a great time with Captain Bub on the Salty Loot!ย We are all fishing novices but still managed to catch near our limit and were able to see various wildlife (orca, humpbacks, sea lions, & puffins) en route to our fishing spots. It was a day to remember!

Weather was amazing and Captain Bub says, โyouโre crazy if you donโt go out past Montague on a day like todayโ and thatโs where we went.ย Got into big yellow eye, ling cod, and eventually 50lbs halibut.ย And Bub has an amazing playlist for tunes
Captain Bub was fun, full of interesting facts about the area, sbd he was so great with our kids!ย We have four kids, ages 9-17, and he made sure they all had a good time and caught fish.ย We highly recommend a Blue Ice Charters.
