I recently booked a trip with Phantom Sportfishing in Oakville for what was supposed to be a special birthday surprise for my fiancรฉ. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be more of a headache than a celebration.
Initially, everything seemed promising. I made the booking and eagerly awaited the day of the trip. However, once the payment was made, communication with Captain Franky became sparse and unreliable. As someone who was trying to coordinate a secret birthday party and invite guests, this lack of responsiveness made me incredibly nervous.
To make matters worse, the original crew and location were changed not once, not twice, but three times, all without any fault on my end. Each time the booking was changed, it threw a wrench into my plans and caused unnecessary stress. The final change came at a shocking 9:00 pm the night before the trip. Imagine the chaos and frustration of having to scramble to rearrange everything at such short notice.
The most infuriating part was that the last-minute change in location meant that my guests and I had to drive an additional 80 kilometers to reach the new spot. This added a significant amount of unnecessary back-and-forth travel, not to mention the inconvenience it caused to everyone involved.
Overall, my experience with Phantom Sportfishing was far from satisfactory. The lack of communication, constant changes to the crew, and last-minute location switch turned what was supposed to be a fun and exciting event into a stressful and disappointing ordeal. I would caution anyone considering booking with Phantom Sportfishing to think twice and explore other options. Additionally, while the captain we eventually went with, Shawn, provided a five-star boat and service, Iโm uncertain if he is associated with the original company I booked, or if itโs a separate entity altogether.
