My family of 4 had an amazing tarpon fishing trip! This was our first visit to PR and our first time booking a fishing trip during our vacation. My family has some freshwater fishing experience but has never had much experience with larger fish, like the tarpon. Our captain, Fransisco, was super friendly and easy to talk to. He answered many of the questions we had. He met us at 5:45 for the 6am trip with everything ready to go. He taught us some special techniques to land the tarpon such as the “bow to the king”. My kids (13 and 15) learned these skills immediately and were encouraged from his positive feedback. In total, we had a great fishing day, landing around 10 tarpons, including one giant (30lb+) over the course of 4 hours. We highly recommend this trip for anyone of any skill level! BTW, we got good recommendations from Francisco on local restaurants and lesser known beaches.

My wife and I chartered with Captain Francisco during our vacation in Puerto Rico.  I have over 25 years of offshore fishing experience on my own boat, as well as others.  Whenever I travel and fish, I almost always charter with a guide.  I try to use those opportunities to learn from the pros that do it everyday and, hopefully, improve my skills. 

I don’t expect to catch fish every time…it is called “fishing” and not “catching” for a reason.  I do, however, expect a knowledgeable Captain that’s willing to put in the effort.

Enter Captain Francisco.  It’s obvious that he’s been doing this for decades.  Very knowledgeable and pleasantly approachable.  He seemed more than happy to share his knowledge and answer all my questions with a passion that only comes from a love of the fishery, people skills, and a lifetime of know how. 

On the day we fished, there was a tarpon tournament going on…several tournament boats were all around us.  We caught more and bigger tarpon than ALL of them!

I am eager to visit Puerto Rico again.  I am eager to fish with Captain Francisco again.

Captain Paco was a very knowledgeable fisherman.  He’s easy to talk to and did everything he could to get us on the fish.  It was a slow day , but that’s fishing.  It certainly wasn’t due to lack of effort or experience on his part and my son and I both managed to land a tarpon.  I would definitely recommend him and I will fish with him again whenever I get back to Puerto Rico.
