I just reread the description of the boat. Itโs deceptive.ย There is no inside as is advertised. There is no shade cover. You are outside in the sun at all times. There is no inside bunk room that was offered in the advert. There was no crew. He is a one man show with no first mate .ย He sets up your jig while driving and therefore only one pole is in the water till he sets up the other one.ย The address is wrong on the advert. He is a hard working good man. He knows his fishing.ย It was a 6am charter and he showed up at 5:54 am. Iโve never beaten the captain to the boat in the morning before.ย Itโs a good deal at $650 per half day but the boat is only good for two people. Anymore people and itโs not comfortable. Bottom line is heโs good. Iโd recommend him but it is stream lined fishing. Nothing easy or comfortable about it.ย But he found fish. Untangled the lure. Is easy going , friendly and smart. For a budget day out itโs a good no frills deal.

Thank you Michael for fishing with me and enjoying the fishing for and catching bluefish and striped bass. I must disagree with some of your incorrect assessments of the boat. There is indeed shade cover with an overhead canopy and side curtain There is a bunk area but in my 40 plus years in the business Iโve never had any ask about using a bunk on a half day fishing trip. I have regularly fished 4 people on the boat and that has never been an issue. There is really no need for a mate with small groups as you can only let one line out at a time regardless who does it, again I thank you for your positive comments

Had a full day shark fishing trip with Captain Ron, had a great day with my 3 friends. Ron knew right where the fish were and was very friendly and patient with my friends who werenโt the most experienced anglers.
Had a great time pulling up sharks, once we had the chum in the water they keep coming and coming, and had great rods and Penn reels to battle them with.
Will definitely be returning some time again when Iโm in the area.

We had a traditional July 4th fishing with Captain Ron.ย He has 49! years of experience in this business and he is a real professional.ย We caught a bunch of stripers including shorts (around 26โ) and longs!ย (38โ and 40โ),ย which we released by Captainโs instruction in accordance with regulation.ย We however brought a couple of stripers, blues and porgies to our home.ย Thank you Captain Ron for giving us such a great 4th!
what a day - the fishing at the point was not so great for stripers so captain ron took us out to Block Island and we trolled there for about an hour with nothing happening , then he decided to switch lures and spots and than โBam Bam โ we were in the fish - battling the big ones - 4 fish in under an hour with 3 keepers - fresh fish that night - absolutely great - terrific ride back from block and plenty of stories to tell - canโt wait until next year !! very nice guy to talk to , knows all about fishing and the town of montauk - 40 years of experience
