We went out with near perfect conditions. The Captain was very knowledgeable, he took time to let us know what we needed to know about the boat. He let us know that he would try his best to get us a catch, and that he did! With in the first hour we caught a good size wahoo and quickly after that another! The temperature became too much and we decided to head back in a bit early to which the captain obliged. When we were reeling in for the last time we had hooked Mahi Mahi that got off the last second but it got close enough for us to see the brilliant blue and green colors.

To top off this trip the captains pointed out a whale we were able to see a Humpback whale breach the water.

10/10 recommend Captain Pepe

We did 2 days back to back with Capt Pepe and Manny. We switched days due to bad weather coming up for the weekend. Capt Pepe was very quick to communicate and called me before we flew to Puerto Rico. He explained what the weather and wave conditions were going to be so we agreed to move the day.

The first day out we got blanked and no fish, but was still a beautiful day on the water. Capt Pepe and Manny did their best and Manny was great in explaining all about his gear and how things were setup. He’s hands down the best first mate we’ve ever had on a charter.

Day 2 was much better. Within 30 minutes out on the water, we hooked a barracuda. We ended the day with 2 mahi mahi, 1 tuna, saw 2 sailfish (they were fat, dumb, and happy so no bites), and hooked a marlin which got away.

Capt Pepe was an expert in cleaning the fish and gave a great recommendation for a recipe for the tuna.

Overall, a great 2 days on the water - great Captain and First Mate! Looking forward to coming back again in the future!

Did a AM morning fishing trip, hooked onto the first mahi mahi within the first hour, 30 min later my buddy caught a nice tuna thanks to the sharp eye of captain Pepe seeing them feeding off in the distance, about a hour later my brother hooked onto a big mahi mahi and we ended up landing every fish and was an awesome early birthday present. Pepe and his first mate were very efficient straight forward and too the point, my kind of people. Highly recommend giving it a chance if it’s your first time or experienced.

I came all the way from California, and I’ve been on plenty of fishing trips before—but nothing compares to this one! Captain Jose “Pepe” and his mate Manuel were incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, fun, and beyond helpful. From the moment we stepped on board, we felt truly appreciated, and that made all the difference.

They worked so hard to give us the experience of a lifetime, and they absolutely delivered. It was clear how much they cared about making sure we had a great time. We’re so grateful for their service—it’s something my family and I will never forget.

Thank you, Jose, for also cleaning and cutting the fish for us. We’re enjoying it tonight at the restaurant you recommended, and it’s absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to come back and do it all again. Highly, highly recommended!

Rough seas and no bites at first, but then BAM! What an experience! We told Captain Pepe that we were looking for dinner. So his crew member, Manny, set our tackle up appropriately for Mahi-Mahi and tuna. First catch was a blue marlin, something we were not expecting. What a surprise and an experience to catch something like that. Right after that we caught a decent Mahi and a couple of yellowfin tuna. Really excited that I got to share this experience with my kid. Highly recommended. I will be connecting with Blue Water Fishing PR when we come back.
