We booked this trip two days after a fishing trip out of Cabo San Lucas left us without a single bite in 4 hours fishing. Very easy process and the marina was a short 10 minute uber ride from our hotel in San Jose Del Cabo.
Our guide was Javier. He was wonderful at finding the fish and consistently trolling to where they were biting. We caught several grouper, many Pacific Sierra, trigger fish and pacific bonito. My son was thrilled! They cleaned and filtered the grouper and suggested we bring it to the restaurant right on the marina and they would cook it for us for lunch. Truly a phenomenal experience all around! Had we been staying at hotel accommodations with a kitchen we could have had them all filleted and sent along with us. We will definitely book again on our next trip.

The day couldn’t be any more perfect.  Started off with us arriving at the harbor with a number of other people and boats gearing up.

Though it was crowded an a bit hard to see where to go to check-in the fisherman hanging around were very friendly and helpful, pointing us in the direction to sign in.  After a few quick minutes we were walked to our boat and captain. To be honest it was hard to tell whether the boat we booked matched in name but the size and setup seemed to be what we asked for.

Our Captain, Felipe was quiet but seemed to know his stuff.  A man of few words he took us out after getting some fresh bait, and we headed out about 30 minutes to a designated area where a few other boats also setup.  From there the day really took off. Almost immediately, we began catching fish.  And for the first part of the day we were catching fish about every 15 minutes.  There were sierras, red snappers, and we even caught a trigger fish. 

On top of the fishing it was whale watching season and that was such an added bonus.  We saw several dozen whales though out the day. Some were as close as 30-40 yard and some even breeched the water jumping nearly clear out of it.  It was awesome.

By the end of it all we caught a dozen fish, and said we’d definitely come back in hopes of pursuing some of the larger varieties next time.

We booked a four hour afternoon outing with Delakin. We were concerned whether we had missed the better part of the day, but the afternoon was the only time in our schedules.  Our guide and captain, Francisco, was hard working and knowledgeable about the waters and equipment. We pulled in a bonito tuna within 15 minutes.  We then caught three good size pacific bluefin tuna and kept the first two, which was more than enough toro for our family for the week.  We also caught a mackerel that made a great ceviche that evening.

Captain was great. I wanted to catch rooster fish and fish the reefs.

Ended up with 3 roosters and a big Sierra mackerel.

Had a few grouper or snapper come off our lines too.

We then trolled for striped marlin on the way home. Perfect trip

Windy day and challenging to fish. But Rubin was a pro. We trawled a bit first. Caught a skipjack. Then bottom fished. Caught a 4’ plus shark. Heck of a fight. “Released” it. Then caught a nice sized sierra mackerel. Got quite a few steaks out of it. Delicious. This is a good, well run and well organised outfit with good clean boats, equipment and expertise. Very much recommended.
