We met John and his crew at the dock early in the morning, The boat was fully stocked with food and drinks for the day with all the rods out ready to fish! The fishing was a little slow at first, but then it picked up quickly! Captain John definitely knows what he is doing. I would recommend him to all my friends and family. Tight Lines!

I cannot recommend this company for so many reasons—our experience was downright dangerous and miserable. We booked an 8-hour deep-sea fishing trip with high hopes, but it turned into a complete disaster.

Before the trip, I texted the captain to confirm, and he assured me they were “getting the boat ready.” Yet, when we arrived, we had to sit around for an hour just to fuel up—why wasn’t this done beforehand? That was the first red flag.

Then came the real nightmare. We headed into brutal, unforgiving waters, battling 4-6 ft waves with 8 ft swells, holding on for dear life. No life jackets were offered, and we weren’t even told where they were—in conditions that felt outright dangerous. The captain seemed unfazed, but confidence doesn’t replace basic safety.

To make matters worse, the entire day was a complete failure. We didn’t catch a single fish. Captain Arnold insisted on using artificial bait, claiming it worked better, but he had no backup plan when it clearly wasn’t working. No adjustments, no effort—just hour after hour of nothing. The silence on the boat was deafening, made even worse by the lack of music or any attempt to make the trip enjoyable.

I had chartered an island boat the day before—same size, but an entirely different experience: a working bathroom, music, life jackets we could actually wear, and an enjoyable atmosphere. Even though that trip wasn’t for fishing, it was a hundred times better.

Yes, fishing can be unpredictable. But this company lacked planning, safety measures, and any sense of customer experience. Instead of making a bad fishing day tolerable, they made it even worse. If you’re looking for a fun, safe, and professional fishing trip, stay far away from this company.

The trip was great! Solid bottom fishing throughout the day, started off in one area, then trolled to another, and finished up at one last spot. Hooked up a few barracudas, some blue runners, a few other bottom grabber, but a huge strawberry grouper! We took that one fish home, went to the market and made some tasty fish tacos and fed 4 people! Great experience and would definitely do it again! Super friendly crew and a knowledgeable captain.

Captain John was extremely helpful on setting up the charter.  He located a dock to pick us up within walking distance of our hotel.  Once on the boat and heading out I got a tournament sized king mackerel within 10 minutes!  His knowledge of the area and where to fish was very impressive.  We choose to do the lunch at Gente de Mar per Captain John’s recommendation.  That was an amazing experience as well and I highly recommend that.  Lunch was very good, the staff was very helpful and bedsides the lunch we had time to snorkel and paddle board.  Afterwards we headed back out but unfortunately a storm blew in and we had to make a run for “home”.  I was glad he had our safety in mind by getting us back to the dock.  He even went so far as to help us flag down a cab so we didn’t have to walk in the rain.  Great charter and great Captain and crew.  I will use him again!
