BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK! We paid for a half day all inclusive trip on the Blue Tail. Upon arrival at the dock we were greeted by “Captain Juan”. He promptly gave us a story about the Blue Tail running late due to an engine issue earlier in the day. He then said he was moving us to another boat in the Cabo Sportfishing Crew fleet. There was no warning of this situation before arrival. Not wanting to throw away the day we planned we said ok. After about 30 minutes of trying to gain WiFi access at his marina I had to go to a restaurant I was at previously nearby to pay the “Captain” via PayPal. After that I went back to the boat and boarded. I then realized “Captain Juan” was still on the dock and had simply passed us on to some other guy and his “deckhand”. We left the marina and the deckhand set up the gear. They asked what we wanted to catch and I let them know what we’d like to target. We then trolled along the shoreline aimlessly as the boat was equipped with exactly zero fish finding type of gear. The fishing done with this outfit is done in two ways. Seeing where other people are and following them and by eye which is usually okay as long as you’re paying attention. However they weren’t. My wife and I spotted all of the fish along the surface LONG before the crew. A marlin which was spotted by my wife hit the lure on the outrigger but the deckhand which spoke almost zero English wasn’t paying any attention and the fish spit the lure and the opportunity was missed. The captain thought this along with the deckhand not being able to communicate anything was funny and laughed out loud the entirety of the trip. The rest of the trip went much the same way. We landed 1 respectable Crevalle Jack on the trip. The all inclusive snacks and drinks consisted of 1 pre packed sack lunch with a sandwich, chips, peanuts, cookie and a granola bar and water and Pacifico beers. Honestly, the fishing with any of the Cabo Sportfishing Crew team is a joke compared to every other charter I’ve ever been a part of and I wouldn’t return at a quarter of the price.

Hi Nicholas, first at all thank you for your review, I apologize, for what happened with the boat, regarding the payment, you knew that you had as an option to pay by card, cash or paypal,i don’t control the internet in the marina, sometimes the lure of the fish is released, the sea conditions sometimes are not favorable along with the movement of the fish, but you caught one Toro, anyway thank for your review, Blessings
Captain Juan showed up reeking of marijuana. Takes us to the fuel station where his boat developed engine problems but continued with the trip anyway. We caught 2 fish (shark and mahi mahi) but were very disappointed with the experience
Hi John, the first thing that you asked when you arrived at the marina was for marijuana, but since we didn’t get them, so we went out to fish, it’s true we had a problem with the throttle cable that we solved in 5 minutes, when we back to the marina, you asked me again for Marijuana, that’s not my business, I don’t sell marijuana, I’m just a fisherman, besides, my crew and I have never been high.
I don’t know why you’re lying saying I smelled of marijuana, if I’ve never in my whole life been high
Blessings.

Was very excited to be in the Marlin Capital of the world but we did not have a good experience at all. Didn’t catch a fish all day and when asked to bottom fish for different types of fish the answer was no. The Captain and first mate kept to themselves and did very little communication with us. Very disappointed in the fishing trip.
Thank you Caleb for your review. I really apologize for not catching a fish, for that reason is called “fishing”, the crew tried to do everything possible to get a fish, but there was no luck that day, thank you.
Hi Terry, thank you for your review
I booked a full day for fishing with my kids. Apparently when we got to the dock captain Juan wasn’t there, and the replacement captain had no idea what he was doing. The first mate was alright. Right away we caught a baby Dorado and a tiny bonito. And then after that, no bites. The boat was tiny and run down with barely any seating and room. Captain Ismael just kept on going in circles when there were clearly no fish where we were. Also, my kids and I agreed we wanted to switch over to bottom fishing or rooster fishing and the captain denied, even though we were PAYING them 600$. Additionally, the first mate or captain didn’t know any English so there was no communication through us. We even left 4 hours early because of how bad it was. At the end the captain was pushing us to give the first mate a tip, which was very annoying. Overall, if you want to go on a fishing trip I suggest booking a bigger sized boat and an experienced captain.

Thanks for your review Cara, To start you arrived too early before the estimated time, there was absolutely no one at the dock, it is not the first time the crew fished, you caught fish, remember that this is called fishing not to catching, the captain never denied anything, if you are going to change the type of fishing you cannot retract every 5 minutes, the weather was not the best and you decided to return to port.
