The team worked hard once we were outside the harbor. Unfortunately the fish had lock jaw.
There were a few tunas and Mahi caught throughout the fleet but all in all slow day.
Joel our deck crew was switching around different baits.
We did get three strong bites, but fish did not stay hooked.
Definitely will book with them again.

What a great first experience fishing in Cabo.  Had high hopes to catch a Marlin, with low expectations as I understand this is not a fish you catch everyday.  However, our experience was unbelievable!  1 hour into our trip we were hooked up with a Striped Marlin.  A couple hours after that, we were hooked up to a trophy Blue Marlin!  Gave us a show as it jumped from the water as if took the bait.  Measured 8 1/2 ft long and will be going on our wall.  Highly recommend!

We left the dock promptly at 6 AM, caught the bait and ice boat and motored from Cabo harbor with lures out. Captain Gilbert and first mate, Joel skillfully dealt with rapidly increasing winds (20+mph) and chop while changing bearings to attract fish. Sea lions grabbed our first seven hits before we got them in the boat but the crew was undeterred. Captain Gilbert evaded the lions and we ultimately brought in seven Bonito, one skip Jack and a trigger fish for sushi. Joel was quick on the rigs and politely catered to the anglers. They worked hard to ensure we had a satisfying trip. Blue Tail was a seaworthy and kind boat for the task.

Gilberto and his first mate were amazing. The boat was very clean and well maintained. They provided a yummy lunch and had plenty of drinks and snacks. We let Gilberto know what our target fish was, and he had us on them in no time. They were very kind with corrections on fishing techniques, as my daughter is a seasoned fisherwoman but in the moment she can get a little excited with her reeling. We got to play our own music and an added bonus was getting to see the whales. Gilberto made sure to point out the whales and dolphins and even taught us some things about them. All and all it was a great trip. This was our second trip with them and we plan to book again in the future!

For a long time my husband has been wanting to go to Cabo San Lucas to go deep sea fishing.  My husband does not speak Spanish except for a few pleasantries.  I picked Cabo Sportfishing Crew – Blue Tail on the Fishing Booker website because in the video the captain spoke fluent English, the boat has a bathroom, all of the necessities were provided for us (license, lunch, live bait), and we could have a private charter without any other person competing for the hooked fish.  We got all that we want and more!  Gilbert piloted the boat.  Joel set up the numerous fishing poles (10?) and made sure that we had everything that we needed.  He is friendly and patient, chatting with us and answering my husband’s numerous questions.  The boat made a stop at a marina convenience store on our way out of the marina, which was fortune because I had forgotten my seasickness pills.  We stayed in sight of land throughout the day.  We caught a lot of fish of varying species.  Joel got the fish hooked on the lines and handed the poles to us.  When I could not turn the reel any more, Joel or Gilbert were right there to help me.  My husband caught a 9 foot striped marlin which barely fit across the front floor of the boat. Of course, Joel and Gilbert got the fish into the boat and they did much of the lifting.  Joel made sure that we were comfortable and had enough to eat and drink.  Gilbert and Joel kept a eye out for whales and pointed them out to us.  We saw a couple breach, coming way out of the water and slamming down causing large splashes.  We also stopped and took photos of the Arch. This fishing trip was everything that my husband wanted and even though he crossed it off his bucket list, I think he is planning another trip here!  If we come here again, we definitely would book Cabo Sportfishing Crew.
