We had a great time on the water with our guide Gerald he is a master of multitasking. Even though fishing was slow that day we all caught fish and had fresh mahi-mahi fillets for the grill.

An outstanding day fishing with Captain Gerald. He was an amazing guide and did not disappoint in finding lots of big fish! We caught lots of big Mahi Mahi and yellow fish tuna and had a feast back at the beach where El Chiringuito cooked up our catch and made it a 5 star experience! Definitely one of the best fishing trips we have been on!

The day started out rough with inclement weather, but quickly passed over leaving a beautiful, sunny day. I think the rain may have slowed the bite, but Capt Gerald used all his experience to ensure we were able to still find some fish and get some action. I would book with Capullo again on my next visit to Tamarindo.

My father and I had two amazing days of fishing with Captain Gerald! We caught Mahi, 6-7 nice Yellowfin Tunas (ranging from 25-40lb), Sailfish, among other species. Gerald instantly cleaned the fish and packed some fillets for us to have them cooked at El Chiringuito restaurant. He worked non stop to make sure we caught the fish we wanted. The owners Roy and Louise are also very gentle and kind people. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! Highly recommended! Hope to come back soon!

Very organized trip with a good guide. I would not recommend going fishing Costa Rica during March as the Fishing was extremely slow and it was extremely hot. We only got one hit the entire day.
Hi Darren, thank you for your review. The fishing has been slow this past week. March is normally a very windy month in this area of Costa Rica which does cool the water temperature down. This last week the winds have dropped which has made it very hot and possibly affected the fishing. However Costa Rica is hot all year round and we have some great fishing here so we can’t say that any specific month is not a good time or fishing.
