Had an amazing first-time fishing trip! We caught lots of grouper, some smaller fish, and even an eel, which we released. I also caught one of those cool fish with a suction cup on its head. Captain Rich was great to talk to, and the whole experience was unforgettable. We fished for about 5–6 hours during an 8-hour trip, and even with a bit of sea sickness, I’d 100% do it again!!
Awesome offshore trip and a great captain! We caught some really nice fish and had a blast. One suggestion for the future: it would be great to use a heavier leader and stronger tackle for the bigger fish, especially cobia. We had several cobia right next to the boat, but every one of them broke off before we could land it. That hurt 😂 And one more small thing — please fix the toilet flush 😅 Going overboard is definitely an experience, but not everyone wants that kind of adventure! Other than that, we had a great time, caught some beautiful fish, and would definitely recommend the trip. Thanks again! 🎣
We've been vacationing in the St. Petersburg area for over 20 years. In that time we have done numerous fishing charters, including the local "party boats" and other private charters. Captain Rich and Reef Relief Charters was by far the most pleasurable experience we have had in all this time. Captain Rich was personable, honest, flexible, easy to talk to, and truly cares about his craft. All the attributes you want when you place trust in someone to take you and your family out in the open water. Not only was his character impeccable, but also the fishing was phenomenal as well. We went out on a 6 hour offshore charter. It was my 8 year old daughter's first charter experience. Not only did Captain Rich help her catch a monster red grouper, he also was attentive to everyone in the family making it easy to fill our cooler with fish. Over all, a completely phenomenal day. If only there were more people in the world dedicated to their profession like Captain Rich.
10/10 highly recommend. I have been on charters from Iceland to Rhode Island to Puget Sound and this was one of my favorites. We had 4 guys with a couple experienced anglers and two newbies. The captain took us out 20 miles and we were on fish the entire time. The captain kept moving to keep us on active fish. We caught keeper hogfish and other reef fish and some nice grouper (we released safely). The captain cleaned and bagged our fish and taught us a ton about fishing tactics in the Gulf. I can’t wait to get out on this boat again next month.
We had a great afternoon fishing woth Captain Dave! we caught a variety of fish, saw dolphins and sea turtles. He was knowledgeable and super easy going and professional. Cleaned the fish for us and gave us recommendations on cooking or a local restaurant that will cook your catch for you! great worh our kids! definitely recommend
We had a blast. The captain and crew were amazing. It was a full moon the nite before so dont think the bite was as good as it could have been. We still caught some good fish. Would hate to know how it would be if the bite was real good. Cause we were wore out. Will do it again for sure.
