Half Day trip with Capt. ????

We booked a trip with Capt. Craig, we confirmed our trip with Captain Craig the day before our trip, when we got there .... No Captain Craig. We had a rough day without even the hint of a strike. No snacks and we brought our own drinks - Just disappointing.

Dear David: My apologies if you were misconstrued by our FishingBooker listing. The listing has been modified to eliminate any future misconception. Captain Craig is not the only captain for Reel Magic Charters, we have other experienced and knowledgeable captains. In response to what you said about no snacks and that you brought your own drinks. We provide snacks and beverages on ALL our charters, namely: chips, Doritos, Lays, etc., beer, water and sodas. A briefing is done by the captain before the boat leaves the dock on all our charters; this was done on your charter. Capt. Ninja during his briefing communicated that we have snacks and beverages on-board. As a matter of fact, there were cold drinks in the cooler before your party came on the boat as we had a morning charter. The cooler would have been replenished when needed, but you brought your own drinks. I must also add that other members in your party ate snacks that we provided. Captain, crew and guests feel disappointed whenever they do not catch fish, but that's the reason its called fishing and not catching. We try our best to catch something, but it's never a guarantee. In the future, should you wish to go fishing again with us, please request Capt. Craig. We will also gladly offer you a reasonable discount. All the best, Marsana Booking Coordinator

    Half Day Trip with Captain Oates and Shawn

    Because the weather was lousy the first day we tried fishing, Captain Oates was very accommodating—he turned the boat around for our family and rescheduled us for the next day, which was much better weather. Although we only caught a couple of tuna, it wasn’t for lack of trying—Shawn had many lines in the water and tried several types of bait (our four year old wanted to catch a shark, and Shawn humored him as best he could!). The kids had a great time and these guys know what they are doing. Highly recommend!

    4 hr morning trip with Captain Oates

    We had a great time! The boat was well maintained and the fishing setup was very impressive. Micheal set multiple lines in the water at a time to increase our chances of snagging a big one. Michael worked tirelessly to swap out bait combos, live bait, and lures. He made it look so easy and reeling in was very exciting. He set us up for success in as many places as he could while our Captain navigated the waters. Our first hit, we had 2 Bonitas at the exact same time! We also reeled in a small yellowfin tuna with a larger, more fiesty and colorful one to follow. Within a couple minutes, another reel went off- a mahi mahi was the prize at the end of the line! Everything was great! They had cold beer, snacks, and kept educating us on the signs of good spots to fish and why. I would recommend these fellas if you're looking for people that want to catch fish just as badly as you do! Thanks again Oates and Michael

    Half-day Trolling in early Winter

    Sean and Oates took my family of 4 on an adjusted morning trip trolling for big game fish December 28. The owner Craig encouraged us to go early rather than in the afternoon as we'd planned due to seasonal weather conditions, and was flexible about the timing. Sean picked us up and took us to their secondary boat docked at the Luminous Lagoon. The boat was comfortable, clean, and appropriately equipped. The crew worked hard to find fish- they burned a lot of diesel and kept changing lures all the way out and back, trying to ensure we caught something. We boated a sizeable barracuda, and a 42lb wahoo. The crew was very excited, and filleted the wahoo on the dock so we could take some back to the resort (it was delicious!) Really nice, hardworking crew, we had a great time.
