  It was a great boat ride

  Our trip started at 7am and the captain and crew were good. I was hoping for a more of an experience catching fish that were worth to keep, barracuda’s all day which were 9 and googled if it was safe to eat, and it wasnt due to the bacteria on them and stated if your in Cancun, do not eat, so we caught nothing at all. The first 3hours we caught bait fish and the rest of day it was riding a boat. I was expecting more, but very disappointing say the least.

  Thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear that you found the captain and crew to be good. However, we would like to clarify a few points. You mentioned that you “caught nothing at all,” but your own review states that we caught 9 barracudas, and the photo you posted clearly shows the catch. Unfortunately, fishing is fishing—there is never a guarantee of catching a specific species or fish worth keeping. Regarding barracuda, we understand your concern about eating them. In this area, we do advise guests to be cautious about consuming larger barracuda because of the risk of ciguatera, which is why we do not recommend keeping them for consumption. Our job is to provide a genuine fishing experience and to work hard to find and catch fish. We cannot control what species bite or guarantee a particular catch. We’re sorry the experience did not meet your expectations, but saying that you caught nothing at all is simply not accurate. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best on your future fishing trips.

  Best Fishing Trip! Book Samaki Charters.

  My wife and I chose Samaki 1 over several other fishing charters on FishingBooker. We were absolutely thrilled with our decision. The communication prior to the trip was great and the details on meeting location were perfect. The entire crew worked from the start of the day to the end of the day in every aspect of preparing for a fishing day. We took an 8 hour trip and the mates and captain worked the entire time putting us on fish. We told them our goal was to catch a sailfish, and would you know it, it happened! The boat was clean and we were offered food and drinks throughout the day. The mate, Andre’s and his partner constantly made sure our baits were swimming properly in the spread and they were changing out the ballyhoos when needed. We were on fish within 45 minutes of lines being in. We caught several bonitos and a nice mahi capping off the day with an 85 inch sailfish. They provided us information to a taxidermy to use in the United States to have it mounted and shipped to our house. They changed the goal from trolling to bottom fishing to try to catch other species after we did not have success bottom fishing we went back to trolling and caught a few more bonitos with one being hooked, and then a shark bit the bonito when reeling it in. I just cannot say enough great things about our day and the staff. We would take another charter with Samaki the next time we are in the area. Captain Eliseo naviagted the waters perfectly and helped alot when hooked up with the Sailfish.

  My wife and I booked a fishing trip with Samaki I, Charter during our trip to Cancun, and all I can say is WOW. We had an absolute blast from start to finish. The entire experience was relaxing, exciting, safe, and worth every single penny. We started by catching bait, and before long we were hooked up on some absolutely monster barracudas. One of them was probably longer than my wife! It was her very first saltwater fish, and what a fish to start with. It took her nearly 20 minutes to reel it in, and the excitement on her face was something we’ll never forget. The deckhand was honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. The guy was constantly working. He was baiting hooks, rigging lines, guiding us, helping us fight fish, and making sure we were having a great time all at once. He never missed a beat. On top of that, he was incredibly friendly and genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable and having fun. The captain was equally awesome. Super friendly, explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and put us on fish. The boat ride itself was fantastic, and the entire trip felt professional and safe from beginning to end. My wife and I are incredibly grateful for the experience and the memories we made. We will absolutely be back the next time we’re in Cancun. I also saw a negative review saying this charter isn’t worth it because the crew rigs everything and all you do is reel in the fish. Honestly, I couldn’t disagree more. The whole point of booking a charter is to relax, enjoy yourself, and let experienced professionals handle the setup while you focus on catching fish. If you want a fully DIY experience where you’re rigging your own gear and doing everything yourself, there are other options for that—or buy your own boat. For us, this was exactly what a charter should be. Don’t let a few bad reviews fool you. These guys are awesome, work incredibly hard, and provide an amazing fishing experience. Highly recommend Samaki Charter to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free day on the water.

  Sortie de pêche incroyable avec l’équipe de Samaki 1 Cancun Charter. Honnêtement, une des plus belles journées qu’on a eues sur l’eau. L’équipage a été extrêmement attentif à nos besoins du début à la fin. On se sent écoutés, compris et surtout, ils font tout pour qu’on vive un moment mémorable. Leur niveau de pêche est impressionnant, des vrais pros. Ils savent exactement quoi faire, où aller et comment s’adapter pour maximiser l’expérience. On sent l’expertise, mais aussi la passion. J’ai essayé plusieurs guides dans le passé, et il y a clairement une coche au-dessus ici. Je recommande à 200 % à toute personne qui passe dans la région d’Isla Mujeres / Cancún.   My wife and I did this on our honey moon trip and never did deep sea fishing before. The crew was very kind and personable, made sure we always had a beverage. They were very knowledgeable and skilled in getting us hooked up. It was a great boat, and an even more great view all day long. We caught a large bonito fish and many barracuda, will come to this charter every time we are in Cancun.
