We caught flounder and sea bass to keep and it tasted great! My buddy’s teenage son left with a big grin and lots of stories to tell after he reeled in a shark. We all had a great time.

Captain Larry and Bill are a great team. Had a wonderful time! Regardless of the light rain and choppy water, this skilled crew made an unforgettable experience for us. With their guidance and knowledge, we still had a great time and caught several species of fish! Bill did an excellent job cleaning the fish we kept and we took Captain Larry’s suggestion to have the restaurant at the marina prepare our fresh catches for lunch! Delicious! Highly recommend them if you are in the area. Will be returning to Makai Charters every chance I get. Thank you Captain Larry and Bill!
We had an amazing outing yesterday with Makai. Captain Larry kept us on fish and safe, and we learned a lot. First Mate Bill was awesome and hustled the whole time, right alongside Captain Larry. Not only did we realize a dream to catch mahi-mahi, we caught black sea bass to top it off. Most importantly, we had a great time and made it home with an amazing haul! We haven’t fished for big tuna yet, so maybe that’s next!
the captain and mate, were top notch.Captain was very attentive,and the mate on top of things. Csptain put us on top of some big knot heads,came home with 23 keepers, threw a BUNCH of smallies back along with 2 flounders, and ling cod. All in all had a GREAT day. Would love to do it again. Definitely recommend the MALAKAI.

It was our first time targeting black sea bass on off-shore wrecks. We kept 35 and released even more. Captain Larry put us on fish and Mate Bill kept our hooks baited and patiently untangled our snags.
