Captain had no idea how to chase tuna.
At the beginning of the trip, there were tuna boiling everywhere. Even with limited boat traffic, the captain did not seem to understand that to catch the tuna you need to go to where they are boiling. Once we switched to calico bass fishing, we caught a few but the captain did not seem to want to ever move spots, having us constantly drift the same shoreline where we would barely catch any fish. All in all, the best part of the trip was not the fishing and was the boat ride out there and boat ride back where I slept. There is a $300 cash fuel charge that is not stated until after booking. We were also told there was a $200 charge for live bait when the booking stated it was included. When asked to fish for yellowtail we were told it was additional $800 charge when it was stated it was included. When I inquired about this, they said it was an error on their part and it would be included. However, we were assigned a captain that had no idea what he was doing beyond very basic fishing and he spoke little English which made communication difficult. We has 6 very experienced fisherman on the charter and caught at most 10 small fish due to the inexperience of the captain. I would not recommend this to any serious angler. It was a very expensive trip that was very disappointing.
