We had a great time with Bob fishing. Conditions at the start were a bit windy but the day ended up calm and nice. Bob was great at helping us with our first salmon fishing experience
We had a fantastic day with Captain Bob. Seasoned Captain that knows the Alberni Inlet inside out . Great knowledge and equipment to put us on the fish . Its very early in the Sockeye season ( June 15 2026 ) and so some days better than others . Our day happened to be insanely good . Hit the boat limit by the end of the day ( 4 sockeye salmon per fisher ) Myself and my three brothers got our four fish each, and also lost a few more as barbless hooks are used . Average fish , 5-6 lbs , with a few of them being 7-9 lbs . It was great fun . Bob cleaned the fish for us . Very professional , prompt , ( 6 am start sharp) and great person ! i would do this trip in a second again next time i make the trek from Newfoundland . Very reasonable price . I highly recommend Captain Bob , from Bob Katz charters .
We had the absolute best day on the water with Bob! He knew exactly where to take us to make the most of the day, and we hooked into plenty of Coho and Chinook salmon. It was an action-packed and incredibly fun day! A huge thank you to Bob for making our day so memorable. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing day out on the water! 🎣

Amazing experience. Captain Bob took care of all of the equipment and led the way. We caught 7 fish and saw 2 whales. Captain Bob contacted me a couple days early saying we should change where we go because there will be more fish. He was right. My son and I had a great trip and would highly recommend him.

Started with saftey gear(first aid bag, throw bag, fire extinguisher, life ring, keys, etc.). Many years of fishing experience shows. Got our limit and most were large Sockeye salmon. 9 yr old reeled his first salmon, and Bob helped patiently. Told us exactly what had to be done when he was tied up getting lines back In the water. He went above and beyond to help his clients. All the sask friends booked this boat caz he's the best!
We went fishing with Captain Bob as a family in September and our boys had a blast! Captain Bob is very knowledgeable, kind and made our fishing trip very entertaining. It was hands down one of our best memories as a family. Highly recommend fishing with Captain Bob!
