Shaun was a great captain and engaging from the start.  We were fishing with my teenage son and his friends.  Shaun kept them interested, engaged and excited from beginning to end.  Answering all of our questions, keeping our lines full of bait and pulling off the 30+ fish that we caught.  The boys loved it and can’t wait to go back.  I highly recommend Shaun and his boat had everything we needed for a successful day out on the water.

Our family had an absolutely phenomenal experience with Pelican Sport Fishing and Captain Shaun Uyeda. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 

My wife and I took our 12- and 16-year-old sons out with Captain Shaun off the coast of La Jolla, and it could not have been a better day. We easily caught well over 100 fish, and the action was nonstop from start to finish. 

Captain Shaun’s knowledge of the area, the conditions, and the fish was truly impressive. He consistently put us on the fish, adjusted spots as needed, and explained everything in a way that made it fun and easy for the kids to learn. He was patient, encouraging, and genuinely excited to see our boys reeling them in one after another. 

The boat was clean, organized, and comfortable, and all the gear was top-notch and ready to go. You can tell Captain Shaun takes a lot of pride in what he does and really cares about giving families a memorable experience on the water. 

This trip was the highlight of our visit to La Jolla and a day our family will be talking about for a long time. My sons and I had an absolute blast fishing with Captain Shaun with Pelican Sportfishing!  We booked a 5 hour trip and caught a ton of fish, plenty for a delicious ceviche and fish taco dinner that same night! This was our first time fishing and Captain Shaun was extremely patient and taught us so much about the process and the fish we were catching and made the whole experience comfortable and exciting. I took my teenagers out with Shaun and the kids all agreed it was one of their favorite trips, and said it was their favorite captain. 

Spent the morning fishing for rockfish and sheepshead, i think we caught 12 species, everyone was stoked.  Shaun was more than down when we asked if we could do some trolling, and we caught some beautiful bonitas, all in less than 5 hours.  Dude definetely knows what he is doing.
