My son and I had the pleasure of fishing with Capt. David Maki on the 21st & 22nd of April 2023, out of MacRaes’s in Homasassa. We both had the time of our lives. We limited out on Spotted Seatrout and Red Drum both days. We also caught keeper Sea Bass and Grunt(yum!). Capt. Maki’s boat and his fishing tackle were all clean and in good condition. He is a great guy and an excellent guide. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to fish in beautiful Citrus County.

Capt. Dave is a true professional charter boat captain. He made sure all our needs were met through the whole day. He took the time to teach us how to use the tackle and what the bait was doing in the water to attract fish. We are fishermen from up north who rarely use spinning reel tackle and Captain Dave got us going right away. He made sure we new the fine details it would take to catch fish and we caught our limit of red fish and almost the whole limit on trout. We also caught many shorts and other species making for a truly exciting day. Fishing the backwaters and the gulf is amazing and Captain Dave sure knows his way around. You cannot go wrong with chartering with Finntastick and we will definitely be back!!!!

Captain David has a very intimate knowledge of the local waterways and the fish within those areas. He introduced us to a variety of fish and provided the gear and bait required to catch those fish. On more than 1 occasion, he called out what type of fish we would expect to find and that’s exactly what we caught. The boat is excellently set up for this type of fishing. Captain David is a great communicator and really works hard to make sure we put fish in the boat. I highly recommend reserving a trip with the Captain. We will definitely reserve another trip with him next time we are in Homossassa.
