I agree the weather was not the best.  We were not offshore but inshore behind mangroves and bridges in calm water most of the 4 plus* hours.
In retrospect I would have cancelled if I knew the outcom in advance… I do cancel many trips as I did today if I have a good reason to believe the day will not be up to par… (Often the clients are upset about the cancellation)

Unfortunately fishing or the weather is not what I or anyone can predict with 100% accuracy…

We fished behind mangroves in flat calm waters, Rock piles, bridges, docks and protected Waters for the majority of the 4 hour trip.  The bite was not what I was expecting.  I went to every effort to give the 6 clients of various fishing experience the best chance for a good day on the water…

I was on the water 1 hour prior to the trip throwing a cast net trying to secure bait with little success.  8 rods were rigged ready for a typical half day of fishing prior to the trip!

In the beginning of the trip I did spend 10 to 15 minutes in rough water throwing a cast net in a different location trying to secure extra live bait for our trip. 
We fished an extra 30 minutes past the scheduled time again trying to do everything possible…

8 rods (2 extra) were rigged and ready for the day but had to re-rig rods and change plans to meet the conditions and the bait available and change of target fish…  (Rods rigged for trout need to be changed if you’re fishing for another species)
Clients needed all handles on opposite sides of reels since they were unfamiliar with spinning reels… 
Not a problem but it takes a few minutes to change handles…

I gave clients a hundred percent effort and was properly equipped and prepared to the best of my ability, traveled extra distance and extra TIME for a half-day trip trying to find a decent bite.

Thankful and greatly appreciate my clients patients during a challenging half-day Charter.
