My dad and I booked a last minute charter with Reel Life and it was a very fast and easy booking. The charter itself was great, our captain was very sociable and knowledgeable, the boat was beautiful and solid. We went out for a half day in the morning and even though we didn’t land any legal fish (none of other boats around landed a single fish either), we had a blast!

I would absolutely recommend Reel Life to anyone wanting a fantastic charter experience and they’ll be my first go-to recommendation for Sooke fishing!

Awesome time! Highly recommend. Slow start to the day and Gary was working hard on not only getting us on the salmon but the big ones. Caught a couple small ones and had some big ones pop off the hook. Gary was getting a little nervous but you could tell he was putting the extra effort to make it happen. About 3 hours in and it was pretty slow… Then triple header followed by a double header and a few small ones after that. Only complaint was we talked to different captain before arrival about setting some crab traps before we head out but that message was passed to Gary. It was too late once we had left the dock but Gary let us check his crab trap he set in the morning but no dice. Anyways good boat, good captain, good fishing, good price. I would definitely go with these again.

The captain was a beauty.  Very knowledgeable and lots of tips. I had my first chinook on before he had the last rod out and it wasn’t half through trip n I had an 82cm chinook in the boat. The last half hour of fishing the coho and pinks started biting and were non stop.  I would gladly book another trip with this captain and highly recommend

Unfortunately 2 days to go and we could had kept this 20 plus lb Spring. Unfortunately the slot size doesn’t allow for today, but hope it means more fish for future. Gary was working hard today for the fish but other than the one release we did go home with one small one. Great charter, even kept kids entertained. We’ll be back!

Had a great day out with captain Gary.  He has a great, positive attitude and works hard to keep everyone on the boat happy.  He got us on the fish right away and worked hard to ensure we stayed on them day.  We limited out and had a great day, even having a triple header at one point!  Would definitely recommend him for a day on the water.
