Full day trip, rough water
The captain tried his best to put us on fishing spots. The fish were small and almost embarrassing to catch. The boat was older and in rough condition, the exhaust was pretty bad the whole trip. We had an older group and with the rough water, the flooring in the cabin was loose and caused two people to fall. One minor injury. The captain and mate weren’t really sociable so it was kind of boring holding on with the rough water. The captain was on his phone most the trip and on a phone call so seemed like we weren’t welcomed. We had five people, and the deck was about maxed out even though four of us were fishing as the other one was fighting sea sickness the whole trip. We caught fish but nothing impressive. Ended up with about 2-3 lbs of fillets so it wasn’t a lot. You might get lucky and catch big fish like in the photos but we sure didn’t. The boat wasn’t set up for anything other than bottom fishing. With the signs of life at the surface of the water it would have been nice to try to troll and go for dorado fish or something they said was in the area. I tried being positive about it but it sadly didn’t meet any of my expectations. I’m not digging on the crew or boat, your experience could be perfect but it just didn’t line up for us. We had a full day chartered and we ended up requesting to go in after 3 hrs on the water since it was so rough and the quality of fish was poor. I call it poor is when you have two fish on a line and their so small you don’t even know it until they try and move and reel them in. Don’t think we caught anything over 2lbs. I won’t use this company again.
