5 JUN NOLA Fishing Experience

Even with less than ideal fishing conditions (full moon the night prior, windy, rising tide), Captain Joel was able to put us on some fish (Speckled Trout). Once the area was fished out, he moved us to another spot until the action quieted down and continued to repeat. The conditions made it difficult to fish for Red Fish but the conditions were less than favorable so we were unsuccessful. Great charter and Captain Joel had plenty of local fishing knowledge.

    So Much Fun!

    Our captain Ken was excellent. He was patient and kind with us as we learned to fish for fish we’ve never caught before. He was also super patient with our teenager who is a bull in a china cabinet. Ken put us on fish and didn’t wast time at one spot if we weren’t catching anything. We caught a lot of fish including red fish, black drum, flounder and a trout. We had a great time and would highly recommend!

    Captain Ken was laid back, knowledgeable, a pleasure to fish with, and cleaned all our fish in no times We caught 10 reds, 10 black drum, 3 sheepshead, 8 reds, 6 drum, and 2 sheepshead were keepers. I’d recommend this trip for anyone who enjoys fishing and doesn’t want to travel far (50 minutes) outside of New Orleans.

    Captain Matt was so dedicated to our group having a good trip that when due to a fluke he was barbed by a venomous catfish he refused go back to the dock for treatment. we tried to insist but he refused. He pulled the inch long barb out grab a 1st aid kit treated the wound and kept going. If anyone thinks this is no big deal they have never had a poisonous barb in them. We had a great time thanks to Captain Matt. We are already looking forward to our next trip out.

    Best captain ever!

    Captain Matt is the best, we had a great time all the way around. The water wasn’t right for reds and trout but he tried his best to put us on them. We didn’t catch a lot but my son caught his biggest red and biggest drum ever along with two trout. We will definitely go back with Matt soon.
