Water was a little choppy. Trawling didn’t get any bites, but the captain found a spot to fill the cooler with red snappers, which was almost too easy and very much fun. We then snorkeled, and the crew prepared an oyster and snapper ceviche right on the boat, with a delicious pina as well. They let us keep as much catch as we wanted, which we took to a restaurant right off the beach, where gladly fried it for us.

Pickup at your hotel is far from accurate. They will pick you up at the beach location closest to your hotel. Communication regarding that was lacking. The boat we signed up for was La Sirena Dorada, went out on something or other Orlando. There was no head, which was a hard and fast requirement. Different boat, different skipper, though a nice guy. Trolling yielded a small black skip jack tuna. The bottom fishing was sad because the hooks were DULL, the bait was soft and the fish were small, the action was slow, slow, slow. If we were fishing the coast of WA, they would have been tossed back.

Jose and Byron were great. Both knew their stuff very well. Saw all sorts of sea life. Whales, dolphins, mating turtles lol, jumping stingrays, flying fish, and even saw a shark swim under the boat. Trolled for a bit and hooked up with a good size Rooster fish. Trolling was a little slow. Then they put us on a reef and we pulled up a bunch of little Red Snapper. Then we moved and pulled up a few little Grouper fish. For the 5 hours we were on board, a lot went on. Definitely recommend!! Plus they picked us up and dropped us off at the beach right at our Resort (PH) to save us travel time. They were there early waiting for us. Helped my wife throughout the day being an amateur. Well worth the $$ spent.

The crew was fun and we caught so many fish! We ate our fish the same day cooked deliciously by at Bar El Ancla!

The boat name that showed up did not match the booking info. Very confusing. We were not sure we were on the right boat. Went ahead and stayed on the boat with the crew and had a good time. The crew worked hard the whole time. Ended up with a needle fish, yellow fin tuna and black tuna. Overall a decent trip after a rocky beginning. The crew fished to the end even with rough weather in the area.
