Mark and crew did an excellent job with hospitality and getting us on this fish! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to catch fish and have a great day on the water!
Our trip was rescheduled by the captain due to a tropical storm which turned out to be a great decision. Captain Brian knew where to put us on the fish and all 10 of us caught our red snapper limit including a 24 and a 16 pound Red Snapper. The deck hands were very helpful because we had some inexperienced fishermen on board. Everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend Hey Babe Charters if you enjoy catching fish. Our catch was cleaned and packed by the deck hands when we returned to dock. Overall this was an experience that our family will remember.
This was a Father’s Day trip organized by the wives and gifted to us. Captain Mark was easy to communicate with and everything was clearly communicated with so there was no surprised fees or additional costs. The boat was well maintained and the full cabin AC was a blessing on a hot day. We caught and kept our limit of snapper. Deckhand Lucy made sure we were doing everything right to get us hooked up on the fish. There was 8 of us on the charter and besides a little sea sickness, everyone had a great time. We would def book with Hey Babe again.
We went deep sea fishing right after a tropical storm. We were all worried that we were not going to catch fish due to the ocean being disrupted. The Captain worked very hard to put us in the best place to catch the biggest fish. We ended up catching a 22.8 lb red snapper along with 13 other very good size snappers. I also caught an amberjack that we released due to it not being in season. We are very very pleased with how our trip turned out! 10/10
We had such a great time with Hey Babe Charters! We were two families vacationing together, and they made sure everyone had an amazing experience. Lucy, the deckhand, was wonderful and even helped our youngest anytime she had a moment. We caught our limit on snapper and made so many great memories. Overall, the boat was nice, and both Captain Brad and the deckhand were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We caught fish and had a good experience on the water. My reason for leaving this review is to make future customers aware of the tipping expectations. The website states that the deckhand works for tips and that a 20% tip is customary. After our $2,500 charter, I tipped $85. Later, Captain Brad called me to explain that 20% is the customary tip and that the deckhand depends on tips for compensation. While the website does mention this, customers should understand that the expectation appears to be much closer to a standard 20% gratuity than what many people might interpret as simply an optional tip. For a $2,500 trip, that means budgeting approximately another $500 in gratuity. I also felt there could have been better communication regarding the sea conditions and options if the trip became too rough. The captain did tell us we could turn around if needed, but I was unclear whether that would have resulted in a refund, partial refund, or rescheduling. Again, I have no complaints about the boat, the captain’s skills, or the deckhand’s work ethic. My review is primarily to help future customers understand the tipping expectations before booking.
i dont know what else i can say. it very clearly written in 20% is customary. 98% of our customers give the deckhand 20% many give more. they work hard. they are there a hour before the trip leaves and 2-3 hrs afterwards. they clean your fish clean the boat. a good deckhand makes the trip. A bad one ruins it. it has been like this for at least 20 years. it how it was when I was a deckhand. it clearly stated 20% is customary you left between 3-4. you said the crew did a good job. you caught fish thats the whole point of the trip. we cant help the weather and if you had questions you should have asked them. we answer many questions daily. you had a good trip with a good crew you said it your self. And now you leave me a bad review because of something very clearly written in the description.
