Great Trip
Captain Nate took us out for a 4hr am trip. We went over what fish to target and went fishing. He explained the techniques we would use and what to watch for. Within 45mins of meeting him on the dock he had us on our 1st catch…a his and hers set of tuna to haul in. We spent a little more time looking for tuna and caught a barracuda from my wish list on a line set up deeper for them. Shortly we switched locations and started targeting mahi mahi. We caught plenty over the next few hours with 3 on the lines at a one point. At the end of the day we had brought in: 2 black fin tuna, 1 barracuda, 8 mahi mahi, 2 skip jack, and even made a special u-turn to fish out my hat (he used the hook—-it counts) Nate knows the water and how to target the individual species. He looks for the natural signs and can tell when the hits are coming. He works hard the whole time out on the water and is very accommodating. The thing that really stood out was his passion for the eco-system. Instead of taking all the fish we caught he put some back to let them grow and even the barracuda was released unharmed. I will gladly look to book with them on my next trip to STT.
