A fantastic trip made even better with the catch of 2 tuna/bonito along with a couple of others.
We arrived at the boat and a friendly greeting from both skippers Martin and Pedro.
Boat was very clean and stocked with beer/coke and water to drink.
Martin asked what we prefer to fish for and we settled on a plan of 1hr game trolling for big game fish on our way out and back in with a 2hr bottom fishing in between.
Very quiet and calm seas meant the trip out was unsuccessful, but the views and relaxing vibes gave us plenty of enjoyment.
We stopped at a few different spots to bottom fish and had a few bites with a catch of the poisonous Spider fish and a mackerel which Pedro informed us to leave it on and get back in the water to use as live bait.
Unfortunately the catcher of the mackerel wanted a quick pic and when picking the line to photograph his Whale it dropped off and lived to fight another day.
Moving around to different spots to find the fish brought us a few bites but not much else so we headed back for our last hour thinking that we might not be cooking on the BBQ upon returning to the villa.
How quickly that changed. Within 10 minutes the lines raged and we were on to a fish.
The skippers gave advice, kept calm and 15 minutes later the table would be fed.
A Bonito(tuna family) was on deck and a decent size which would feed us for the night and lunch the next day which gave us great satisfaction.
We wanted one big one which was achieved.
Martin informed us we would take a slightly different line in as he thought he saw some more activity closer to the shore line.
The anticipation was more relaxed with our tea on board but after another 5/10 minutes the lines screeched again.
The battle commenced and again a bonito was on board with our youngest member reeling this catch home.
Fishing is all about getting in the right area to give yourself the best chance.
Martin certainly did that and our table was fed for the rest of our holiday if needed.
Once back in the harbour the main photos commenced and both Martin and Pedro gave us a fantastic end to our day.
3 fish to cook and a very happy charter.
We then went to Club Nautic restaurant for a well deserved drink and wait for our taxi, where the chef kindly filleted and vacuum seeped our catch, whilst also cooking our poisonous spider fish in a gorgeous batter to no nibble on during our wait.
Highly recommend this if you ain’t sure how to fillet the fish caught.
Thank you to both skippers and we will definitely be back again.
