Slower action and smaller fish are sometimes part of that reality, but we understand that communication during those moments is key and it sounds like that’s where we could have done better.

Regarding the change in technique to drift fishing, that’s often done in an effort to improve the catch when bottom fishing is slow. However, it should always be explained clearly and executed in a way that keeps guests fully involved and comfortable. Your point about line tangling and lack of coordination is taken seriously! That’s not the experience we want for anyone onboard.

As for the captain handling fish instead of passing the rod to guests, we agree!that’s not how we typically operate. Our goal is always to make sure our guests are part of the action, especially when a good fish is on the line.
