Fun fishing trip but
When we booked the trip we communicated with Capt Collier but we were never informed that somebody else will be the Captain of the boat, someone much younger with less experience. We might have made a different selection of boat to go on a fishing trip if we have known. Next time please inform your guests as we book to exploit the experience of our captain.
Aloha, sorry you assumed of whom your captain would be. We're not really even sure where or who the idea of a captain Collier came from. You communicated with one of our staff members, Maddie, who also runs fishing charters. You went fishing with Zach, whom I would guess if you had caught all your dream fish age wouldn't have mattered or even come up in this review. As for knowledge, he has several years fishing out in Hawaii and lots of more years of foshing experience. As for age in this industry, knowledge is power, and you don't have to be old and salty to have that but old or young if the fish aren't around, you can't catch them. At the young age of 25 (younger than the captain you had), I had caught more and bigger fish and won more tournaments than some of my old-timer captain friends. I don't believe age or experience was the factor here for such an unfortunate slow fishing trip. It's frustrating that you had a slow trip, absolutely! And for that, we sincerely apologize. I did try to help compensate a bit for you at the end of your trip on the balance, and that's when you did explain to all of us about knowing and understanding how fishing goes. The fish report for the day was only 1 boat in the harbor caught fish.. and that one fish was the only bite they got all day. 1 bite one fish.
