If you are an enthusiastic angler looking to explore the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Backwater Adventures has you covered. Join Capt. David and let him show you the most productive spots and local honey holes, where you will be able to make a great catch possible.
Your day out on the water will see you fishing North River, along with other tributaries of the Albemarle Sound. You will be using spinning gear for largemouth bass or light tackle for perch, sunfish, or crappie. Casting gear is available on request.
Speaking of which, your main target will be anything from Largemouth Bass to Bluegill, White Perch, Sunfish, and other Panfish. Please note that Capt. David and his Backwater Adventures run strictly catch and release trips.
You will be fishing aboard a 21' Ranger Bass boat, which has plenty of seating and casting space for a couple of anglers. The boat comes powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine and is rigged with a side scan and a Humminbird 360.
All trips with Capt. David comes with the use of quality fishing equipment, as well as rods, reels, tackle, lures, water, and Gatorade. Fishing licenses will need to be purchased before the trip.
Experienced to beginner angler, everyone is welcome to join in the adventure. Bring your fishing buddy with you, have a father-and-son day on the water, and enjoy fishing.
Based on weather and other factors, the meeting site could change to another local ramp. You will be advised about the ramp location when the captain sends you your trip information.

Captain Dave was absolutely awesome. Kind man, that was more happy to help me and my 11yr old get on the fish. Dave was absolutely the best guide I have ever been fishing with. Tons of bait, water, gatorade and a more then pleasant personality. Captain Dave gets 10 Stars for me for the extra kindness that costs 0.00 extra to provide in life. I caught 7 Bass in our trip my son caught only 1 but we were on the fish and Dave did he best to keep us moving so we did not get bored. All round fantastic experience, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fresh water experience. Thanks agin Dave for a great day on the water.
David was great and exceeded all my expectations! He really knows these waters and is very patient and helpful with using various techniques and tackle. I truly had a professional guide today! I caught lots of fish and have great memories. Thanks again David
David was a great charter, me and my girlfriend came down from pa for the weekend and wanted to catch some fish and we did. The bite was a bit slow at first so David pulled out some tricks and stirred the fish up with some top water and then the bite was on from there. I was able to land my new PB large mouth and am so glad we chose David for our charter. Cannot beat the price, you get to use newer gear not no cheap Ollie’s rod and the boat was super clean.
The Captain was very knowledgeable and easy going! It felt like we were out fishing with our normal buddies. Highly recommend and planning ahead for next years adventures already! The fishing was great, very peaceful and relaxing! Plan ahead for a day of fun!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 1 day before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
