This charter company has been a family business on the boardwalk at Chinook Pier Grand Haven since 1984 and continues the tradition today. They believe that kids are the future and offer family-friendly adventures on Lake Michigan.
Whether you are planning that getaway fishing trip, a summer vacation with your family and friends, or even want to entertain corporate clients, FishGH and the Grand Haven area are all ready for you.
You will be fishing aboard the Danel, a 33' Trojan boat. She provides a very stable trolling platform and more comfort than the 30' boats in the area. Built back in 1985, she was overhauled in 2020 and can cruise at a top speed of 30 knots thanks to her twin 350 HP Crusader engines.
Danel can comfortably accommodate up to 6 anglers and is rigged with modern electronics and technologies to save your time while searching for a big one. Her top-notch GPS and fishfinder build up a clear image of where the fish are hiding.
On your day out, you will be trolling for Chinook and Coho Salmon, along with Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout. All trips include the use of quality rods, reels, and lures, as well as the assistance of the first mate, who works for tips. Just bring a valid Michigan fishing license, your food, drinks, and hop onboard. The only thing that's missing is you!
The crew also participates in the Catch and Cook program that allows you to bring your catch to select local restaurants. Just let the captain know that you'd like to take part in the program.

I really had no experience fishing in my life but wanted to see if it's something the kids would enjoy so booked this trip for my wife and 4 kids. It turned out way better than I could have imagined. We booked a 2 hour trip starting at 7 PM and it was a super easy process. We didn't have to bring anything and everything was taken care of by the crew. I let my kids ages 7-13 catch all the fish with the help of the crew. In total we caught 6 fish and lost another 5 that came off the line after reeling but before we could pull them in. All the kids caught at least 1 fish. So, all in all that seemed like pretty good action considering we weren't out there that long. I'd definitely recommend for anyone with kids even if you have zero experience.

We have never chartered a fishing boat before, we were a little nervous but tried this for the first time because one of us would go back to his country soon. One of his to do list in the US was this, and we did it! We got 3 big King salmon (bigger than 800mm, the biggest was 840mm!) and 1 middle size King salmon, and also 830mm size steel head! (6/21/2026) That was incredible and definitely worth chartering this FishGH! Captain is very kind and nice and also great teacher to tell us how to and what to do at the right timing! It was pretty fun!! Thank you!!

Captain Sorin and first mate Carson did a great job patiently answering my grandson’s questions and letting them know what to do when the fish are biting. Despite a slow start the boys, ages 10 and 7, were thrilled to catch their first fish and equally excited to haul in several more.

Had a great experience this past week. We caught a few salmon and had several other hits throughout the trip, which kept things exciting. The crew was knowledgeable, professional, and very personable, making the day enjoyable from start to finish. They were great at sharing their expertise and ensuring everyone had a good time. The wind was strong and the waves were big, but we decided to try it anyways. The captain and first mate rigged the lines and we ended up catching some fish.  Due to our travel plans, we were stuck with only this day and the captain made sure we were safe. Definitley wanna come back in the spring or the fall and fish for something different as the fish change with the seasons and would book with them again.
