This fishing charter was a great experience! I had no previous fishing experience and the Captain made everything easy and fun. The thrill of catching a salmon is incredible. Since we were from out of town, we went more for the experience than the fish itself but the Captain gave us the great idea to bring our fish over to the Paisley Grille where they would cook it for us. Excellent recommendation! The restaurant was wonderful and it was truly an awesome experience to eat the fish we literally caught that day, tasting so delicious. All together, the day was so much fun. Very glad we did this and this fishing charter and Captain Jordan helped make it such a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!!

I looked at several charters all over Michigan trying to find one that worked for us, and ended up going with this FishGH 3 hour offshore trip at 5:30pm. It was a surprise for our Boys, Westen (8) and Kensten (6), who love to fish back home in Southern Indiana. I’m glad we only did a 3 hour trip, because our 6 year old was feeling pretty sea sick, but he was a trooper. Fishing started off a little slow, but about an hour into it, we started catching stuff. We ended up with 4 Chinook/King Salmon and 1 Coho Salmon. Westen’s biggest was 18 lbs which was tied for the biggest fish our captain (Jordan) has had anyone catch this year so far. It was also the biggest king salmon our first mate/deck hand (Rex) had ever seen! That fish sure put up a good fight, it kept taking more line out (it was over 400 feet out!) so it took him quite awhile to get it reeled in! Kensten’s biggest was a 15 pounder. They filleted them for us right away and we brought home 24.5 pounds of meat! It was a great experience for us!

Having been on several fishing charters on Lake Michigan, I can honestly say, being on the Kingpin with Captain Astro and first mate, Parker, was an excellent choice! The fish were slow, but that crew definitely worked for us. It was my son's first time out salmon fishing. The waves were a bit rough, and my son, well, he received the full "effect." However, he stayed a Trooper and kept with it. After booking, i learned that i needed to change the date by one day. Kingpin, within hours responded and with no hassle, and graciously accepted my new requested date at no charge. Definitely a five star outfit! I would absolutely recommend the Kingpin with Captain Astro and First Mate Parker!

We had a blast on the 3 hour offshore trip. The crew was super easy to talk to and get along with. I especially loved how John took the time to explain all the equipment and bait to our 8 year old son and thoroughly answered ALL his questions:) Jordan and John kept us out quite a bit later than planned and got us a second, trophy worthy Coho. Then let my son help reel everything else in when it was time to pack up and head in. It was an awesome time! Thank you!

Originally planned on offshore fishing for salmon and trout. But the waves were a bit much and they weren't biting anyway so the captain still took us out a little bit and let us experience lake Michigan but then did some loops in the harbor so we could actually get on some fish. We ended up catching 5 (3 at the same time once, that was exciting.. lol). The weather was great, the lake was beautiful, we caught some fish. It really was a good time. Definitely going to try to plan another one but this time do it in August (when the Salmon are running really good). Captain and first mate did a good job of giving my son a memorable 13th birthday gift, I am very grateful.
