Luck O’ The Irish Fishing Guide Service is a family-friendly company that offers trips to the finest lakes in Texas. Captain Omar Cotter and Captain Don Novak have decades of fishing experience and a wealth of local knowledge to make sure you take home the fish you want.
Join them on beautiful Lake Grapevine and get ready to have a fun-filled day out on the water. Bring in some monsters and create memories that will last a lifetime. Target anything that is in season and biting!
There are a couple of species that could easily keep your rods busy. You will be targeting Hybrids, Striped Bass, White “Sand” Bass, and Catfish using light and heavy tackle fishing techniques.
Your vessel for the day will be a 20’ Fishmaster bay boat, built in 2002 and overhauled in 2014. This is a spacious fishing machine that can comfortably accommodate up to 5 anglers. Its single 150 HP Mercury engine will power you to the hottest grounds on the lake, while its top-notch navigational and fishfinding electronics will build up a clear image of where your Bass are hiding.
Your trip will include quality gear by Temple Fork, Tightlines, and Extreme Baycasting. When targeting Striper, you will be able to catch live bait as a part of the experience, while other species can be caught with RSR lures.

Our charter with Captain Jonathon and Captain Don was a great experience, if not perfect due to weather.
Jon wrote days before of potential for wind and offered us other options. He said he would make the call the day before, as there were wind advisories.
We decided to go forward after he said they could put a boat on the lake.
He was communicative throughout (via text) and professional as we both decided how to best maneuver the situation.
The weather started decently and we caught 10 or so fish on the fist stop. Then the front blew in (early) and they took us from spot to spot, putting us on fish. The conditions weren't great but they stayed out as long as we were comfortable. As the wind picked up the fishing ebbed.
Finally: I moved to Dallas in spring 2021 and will leave shortly (spring 2025). When we initially moved here, we did a charter with Captain Don and had a great experience. My son and I decided to booked our time in Dallas with a return trip with Luck O' The Irish, since our first time with Captain Don went so well. We were not disappointed.

Jonathan and Omar were incredibly easy to communicate, plan, and just generally talk with! Every aspect of our trip, from organizing, to meeting up, to payment was taken care of quickly, professionally, and efficiently, AND we got to have a great afternoon on the water catching fish. Will definitely be booking with Jonathan again.

Amazing Family Fun

We came to Texas for a family trip. Booking with Luck O' the Irish was the best decision. Don was knowledgeable not only of fishing the Texas area but also the birds! It was great for all of us. My 10 year old was the first to catch a fish and was so proud. He made it easy to get great pictures for memories and even had us pose for him to take some. Such an amazing experience and will definitely stick with these guys any time we are in Texas.

After a couple hours of fishing it started storming but our gracious captain Don met us back on the lake a couple hours later to finish our trip. Hats off to Captain Don for putting us on the fish and coming back to let us finish our day!
