Rod Bender Fishing Charters invites you to join Captain Anthony Menichino for a fishing adventure in the waters of St Augustine, Florida. He is more than happy to accommodate children and provide hands-on training to those less experienced in the hobby.
His boat is a 26' Cobia that's powered by a twin 150 HP Yamaha engines. This vessel is one of the most comfortable riding boats out there, as you'll soon find out. Not only that, but it comes equipped with radar, sonar, outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water.
Capt. Anthony will take you to the areas that produce the most action. Those will usually include wrecks, reefs and the natural bottom. Of course, the most important factor will be what you'd like to catch on your trip.
If you plan on going nearshore, expect to encounter Flounder, Whiting, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper and other fun species. In the deeper offshore waters, you can look forward to varieties of Snapper, Grouper, Jacks, Kingfish, Cobia, Wahoo, Mahi and some Tuna.
Capt. Anthony is very happy to accommodate you by filleting your catch and bagging it up with ice. All you need to bring is hats, sunglasses, sun lotion (but no spray sun lotion), along with some food and drinks. He works hard to put you on the fish, and there's plenty of fish in the sea out here! We pick you up at a 5 star marina

Great Birthday present for my husband!

My husband and I had a great time fishing with Capt. Anthony and Ethan. But first things first.
We are very grateful that they were willing and able to accommodate a last minute change in our schedule. That was much appreciated. The fishing trip was a lot of fun. Capt. Anthony and Ethan were gracious and extremely attentive. Not having fished in decades, they took the time to help me with the casts, took care of hooking the bait, and released the fish we caught from the hooks. Our time was spent 100% fishing rather than fussing around with the equipment, bait, and so forth. They knew where the fish would bite, so we changed locations a few times following the fish, with success. Ethan also provided interesting information about the historic city of St. Augustine, which I appreciated. At the end, the captain cleaned the fish and gave it to us in bags with ice. I do not have enough words to express our gratitude. They made this birthday easy, fun and memorable.

If you're on the fence about booking with Rod Bender Fishing Charters, let me make the decision easy for you: just do it. Anthony and Ethan put together one of the best experiences I've had on the water. These guys are the real deal, friendly, hilarious, and incredibly knowledgeable. They clearly love what they do, and that energy is contagious from the moment you step on the boat.
We ended up catching nearly 20 fish, which speaks for itself. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting started, they know exactly how to put you on the fish and keep things exciting the whole time.
Honestly, I can't recommend this charter enough. We're already planning to come back for a full day offshore trip, and I cannot wait. Do yourself a favor and book these guys. You will not regret it. 10/10.

Captain Anthony is a seasoned fisherman with so much knowledge and experience. His boat is well equipment and very comfortable on the water.
We were in a tight timeframe to get some fishing in. My boys really wanted to get some saltwater fishing in before we left the area. I contacted Captain Anthony and he made it work for us. He also was assisting with fishing and every time he got one he handed the pole to the boys. We caught plenty for dinner and Ethan (first mate) made a few suggestions of places we could take them to cook for us. Which was a relief as I really didn’t want to go buy seasonings for our last nite. So all worked out we will definetly be back and go for a longer trip. Thanks again for working it all out and for the great time. Many great memories were made.

Best Fishing Trip Ever!
Dolphin tours and sight seeing trip on August 5, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 child
I am not a fisherman. Every time I attempt fishing, I usually leave after catching very few fish, if any. I love doing it. But I am very uneducated when it comes to the sport. That being said, our Captain Anthony was the best. He made the trip so much fun for us. He knew exactly where to go and when. He was so helpful with our three teen boys. We caught 22 fish, one shark, and a sting ray! On the way back to the marina, Anthony slowed down for us to watch dolphins swimming. It was amazing. 10/10. I would definitely recommend his services if you are planning a trip to St Augustine. The boat was perfect as well. It has plenty of seating and is spotless. It was well equipped for our five person fishing excursion. Don't go on a dolphin tour. Take the fishing trip with Anthony. You will not only catch fish, but he will make the most of your time on the water.

This Trip Made My Son's Summer

My son is autistic and obsessed with the ocean and fishing, so I booked this trip with Rod Benders Fishing Charters during our stay in St. Augustine to help him experience both together. Captain Anthony was incredible. He was patient, knowledgeable, and so kind to my son and the rest of our group on board. He taught my son several fishing techniques and important safety tips that he can use back home.
We caught so many different types of fish, and he even took us to see dolphins, which ended up being my favorite part of the trip! Afterward, Anthony showed my son how to properly fillet the fish we kept so we could take them back to our condo and cook them together.
My entire family was so impressed by Captain Anthony’s professionalism and knowledge throughout the trip. We will be booking with this company again the next time we visit St. Augustine!
