My first time in La Paz after being on about a dozen other fishing trips to Loreto & Los Barilles I decided to try my luck on a smaller outfitter vs the larger ones in the area to avoid getting “lost in the crowd”. My wife and I had 2 days of fishing planned and it could not have gone any better. Edgar made the accommodation to pick us up on the boat from the hotel, plus we had a few last minute date changes due to the recent hurricane, and he was prompt in communicating on both. Edgar really is a top notch guide and just a fun person to have on the boat to fish with. His English was well above many of the guides I’ve had in Baja which was welcomed, and he was upbeat and enthusiastic. Our fishing experience was amazing! Both days we caught over 20 Dorado in about 2 hours of fishing(which can’t be expected every time, but right place right time for a reason) I would recommend Edgar to anyone going to La Paz without hesitation, and will absolutely be booking with him next time we’re down here.

Captain Edgar was very knowledgeable as a lifetime resident of La Paz. He informed us right away that the bigger fish were out there but we had to go farther to get them. After grabbing live bait, it took about two hours to get to the spot but as soon as we were there the fish started hitting. We got some nice sized Dorado right away and then focused on getting a bug bull. Edgar and the seas did not disappoint. We got a nice 30 pound bull that was an excellent fight. Out of the boats around us in that area we definitely got the biggest bull that morning. Edgar recommended the restaurant right on the marina to cook up some of our catch for dinner. La Costa restaurant did an amazing job of preparing the fish two different ways with all the fixins. The charter was top notch with good gear, lunch, and drinks. Edgar was awesome and felt like a friend by the time it was over. He gave us some tips on beaches and places to check out in La Paz also. Highly recommended booking the all inclusive, which gets you prepared frozen packages to take home. Great trip!!

Captain Edgar was friendly, was so knowledgeable about fishing in the area, had excellent English,  and made us an amazing lunch. We landed 2 Grouper, a Snapper and Rooster fish which Captain Edgar filetted and sent home with us. We had multiple hook-ups with Yellow Tail, but weren’t able to land them. Saw breaching Humpback Whales, and ended up staying out longer than we were booked for as Captain Edgar wasn’t watching the clock, just wanted to ensure we had a good experience. We rated this experience 5/5 in all categories - would have given it a 10 if we could!

This was the perfect trip for us - no frills but everything needed to enjoy a great day of fishing-a bit of shade, cold water, a tasty burrito and lots of fish on the lines.  Edgar taught us the right technique to land these beautiful mahi, send us home with fillets and set up a feast at the costa restaurant.  We ate fish for days!

We had an amazing fishing experience with captain Edgar. He knows the best fishing spots, is knowledgeable about all the different types of fish - one of the best sports fishing experience we’ve ever had. He recommended La Costa to cook our fish, and we met he and his beautiful wife for a wonderfully prepared lunch the following day. We caught Mahi, Grouper, Snapper and a couple of big Rooster fish. We highly recommend him for your next fishing trip in La Paz!!
