By booking a trip with Fernando's Tour you give Captain Fernando or Captain Ponchito permission to make your day unforgettable. You will be amazed at the incredible species that you can catch and observe in the great Sea of Cortez.
Organized by Captain Fernando, who has been fishing for more than 15 years, big game species will be pursued. The most frequently caught species are Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Marlin, Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna and more. There are also fish that you can catch when you stay closer to shore, such as Grouper, Snapper, and Roosterfish.
Our great friend Captain Alfonso Macías, better known as Ponchito, also helps us organize fishing trips. He comes from a family of fishermen, as a captain he has 24 years of experience. He has participated in many tournaments as well as won several, his specialty is trolling, bottom fishing, live bait. He has caught Marlin, sailfish, horse mackerel, tuna, dorado, wahoo, among other species. He has been lucky enough to participate a couple of times in the biggest tournament in Baja el Bisbee.
You will start your trip from the magnificent port of La Paz and you will board the 25' boat called "Fortuna". It is powered by a 225 HP Yamaha engine, has a tank to keep the bait alive and fresh, and has ice banks. There is enough space for 4-5 guests to fish at the same time, so bring your friends or family. Children are also welcome, as long as they are over 5 years old.
Fernando's Tour supplies you with fishing equipment such as Penn and Shimano rods, reels, and hooks. Live Mackerel bait is caught during the trip if you want to use it, which is a great warm-up practice for real trophies. You will also have soft drinks and beer on the boat, but you will need to cover your food and sun protection.
Fernando's Tour will help you have a wonderful day on the water. But the most important ingredient for a perfect getaway is taking the people you love the most with you.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on this fishing charter, and it's definitely a five-star experience for us. Even though we only caught one fish, the guide's energy and enthusiasm made the whole trip a ton of fun. Plus, they went above and beyond by cleaning the fish for us and giving us some great recipes to try at home. And we really appreciated that they let us stay out on the water longer than planned—those extra hours were awesome. Finally, they were super knowledgeable about the area and shared tips on other things to do and about the local wildlife. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better day. Five stars for sure!

Unforgettable Trip!
From the moment we met Captain Fernando and First Mate Jairo at the Harbor, the trip was epic. They were both so welcoming to my husband, my two daughters, and me. From cruising and catching bait to the real fishing of catching 3 Dorados, 1 skipjack, and hooking up a Marlin, unfortunately, the Marlin didn't make it to the boat, to fresh sashimi at the beautiful Balandra Beach, where we snorkeled and saw shrimp in the wild, to heading back seeing a pod of Orcas, to being dropped off on the beach in front of our hotel. They were both so friendly and accommodating that I dread my next fishing trip because there is no way that it could ever measure up.

Probably one of the best fishing trips I have had and I fish a lot . The capi was on top of the fish all day , the deck hand was awesome . We fished with Captain Fernado and his Awesome 1st Mate. While The Captain doesn't speak English his First Mate makes up for it. Together they make a Great, Entertaining Crew. They Make an incredible Ceviche and serve with Drinks! Very Family Friendly as they have a Extended Canopy for Maximum Sun Protection. The Bathroom services are appreciated for the Wives and Kids.

We took our teenage boys with us. Glad we did it but not sure we have the patience to become avid fishermen. Fernando and Alejandro were great and we caught Mahi Mahi. The boat was clean and equipment worked well. They cleaned fish for us and we had it cooked at Los Plebes a few blocks off the Malecon. All in all a successful day but I don't know if it something we will do again.
